DESCRIPTION

Zinaprim is a complex antibacterial drug for the treatment of cattle, small ruminants for diseases of the gastrointestinal tract and genitourinary system, as well as for skin and soft tissue lesions caused by microorganisms sensitive to the sulfamethazine-trimethoprim combination. Horses - for pneumonia, wash and septicopyemia. Foals - for diarrhea. Domestic animals - for pulmonary infections, septicemia, bacterial enteritis and cystoisosporosis in dogs.

COMPOSITION

An antibacterial drug in the form of a solution for injection containing sulfametosin and trimethoprim as an active ingredient. 1 ml of the drug contains 200 mg of sulfamethazine and 40 mg of trimethoprim. The drug in appearance is a clear solution of light color.

PHARMACHOLOGIC EFFECT

The action of the drug is due to the combination of two active components that make up its composition - sulfamethazine and trimethoprim. These substances, individually, have a bacteriostatic effect, and together, give the drug a bactericidal effect. The main property of this composition is the synergistic effect that trimethoprim in combination with sulfamethazine exhibits against microorganisms. The drug has a broad spectrum of action against gram-negative and gram-positive microorganisms, such as Clostridium spp., E. Coli, Salmonella spp., Haemophilus spp., Pasteurella spp., Proteus mirabilis, Shigella spp., Vibrio spp., Streptococcus spp., Brucella spp.

The drug is well absorbed from the injection site and quickly distributed to all organs and tissues of the body. It is excreted from the body mainly in the urine and, to a lesser extent, in the bile. The drug is low-toxic for warm-blooded animals, in the recommended doses it does not have a local irritating and sensitizing effect.

INDICATIONS

Treatment of bacterial infections of the gastrointestinal tract, respiratory tract, genitourinary system, skin and soft tissue diseases caused by microorganisms sensitive to the trimethoprim-sulfanilamide combination in cattle, sheep, goats and pigs.

DOSAGE AND APPLICATION

Applied intramuscularly at a dose of 1 ml per 10 kg of body weight. At the beginning of treatment, it is recommended to enter a therapeutic dose twice with an interval of 12 hours.

SIDE EFFECTS

With prolonged treatment, vomiting, diarrhea, crystalluria may appear.

CONTRAINDICATIONS

Individual hypersensitivity to one of the components of the drug. It should be administered with caution to animals with renal and hepatic insufficiency.

SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS

Slaughter for meat is allowed 30 days after the last use of the drug. The meat of animals that were forcedly killed before the expiration of the specified period can be used to feed fur-bearing animals or for the production of meat and bone meal. It is forbidden to use milk obtained from animals for food purposes during the period of treatment with Zinaprim and within 4 days after stopping the use of the drug. Such milk can be used to feed animals. When working with the drug, you should follow the general rules of personal hygiene and safety measures provided for when working with veterinary drugs. It is forbidden to use the packaging from the preparation for food purposes.
