tincture of belladonna 5 ml (belladonna leaves or herb 500 mg, ethanol 40% - 5 ml)

valerian tincture 10 ml (valerian medicinal rhizomes with roots 2 g, ethanol 70% - 10 ml)

tincture of lily of the valley 10 ml (lily of the valley herb 1 g, ethanol 70% - 10 ml)

racemic menthol 200 mg

pharmachologic effect

Combined herbal preparation. Belladonna leaf has m-anticholinergic and antispasmodic effects. Interferes with the stimulating action of acetylcholine; reduces the secretion of salivary, gastric, bronchial, lacrimal, sweat glands, pancreas. Reduces the tone of the muscles of the gastrointestinal tract, bile ducts and gallbladder; causes tachycardia, improves AV conduction. It dilates the pupils, hinders the outflow of intraocular fluid, increases intraocular pressure, and causes paralysis of accommodation. Lily of the valley tincture has a cardiotonic effect. Valerian rhizome with roots has a sedative and antispasmodic effect. Facilitates the onset of natural sleep. Sedation occurs slowly, but is quite stable. It has a choleretic effect, increases the secretion of the gastrointestinal mucosa, slows down the heart rate,dilates the coronary vessels. The effect on the activity of the myocardium is mediated through neuroregulatory mechanisms and a direct effect on the automatism and the conducting system of the heart. Menthol is a local irritant, has venotonic, analgesic, reflex coronary dilating and antianginal effects.

During the period of treatment, care must be taken when driving vehicles and engaging in other, potentially hazardous activities that require increased concentration of attention, speed of psychomotor reactions and good vision.
