PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES

Sertaconazole is an antifungal agent derived from imidazole and benzothiophene. Possesses fungistatic and fungicidal action in therapeutic doses. Active against fungi of the genus Candida. The mechanism of action of sertaconazole is to inhibit the synthesis of ergosterol and increase the permeability of the cell membrane, which leads to lysis of the fungal cell.

It also has antibacterial activity against gram-positive bacteria (staphylococci and streptococci).

PHARMACOKINETICS

There is no systemic absorption after intravaginal use. Unchanged sertaconazole is not detected in either blood plasma or urine.

SIDE EFFECT

If candidiasis is confirmed, it is recommended to identify and try to eliminate the factors that favor the appearance and development of fungi.

With a simultaneous infection of the labia and adjacent areas (vulvitis candidiasis), additional local treatment with ZALAIN cream should be carried out.

When using the drug, it is recommended to refrain from sexual intercourse.

To prevent urogenital reinfection, it is recommended to consider concomitant treatment of the sexual partner.

The risk of rupture of a condom or diaphragm increases when they are used simultaneously with the use of the drug.

Treatment can be done during your period.

Zalain does not affect the performance of potentially hazardous activities that require special attention and quick reactions (driving, etc.).
