pharmachologic effect
Herbal remedy. Due to the content of quinagolide and germacranolide, it has a choleretic effect. Tannins, essential oil and chamazulene provide anti-inflammatory, bactericidal, anti-allergic and wound-healing effects of the yarrow herb; flavonoids and essential oils provide an antispasmodic effect on smooth muscles; the bitter alkaloid Achillein irritates the endings of the taste nerves and increases the secretion of gastric juice. The mechanism of hemostatic action of the herb yarrow is similar to the effects caused by calcium ions. The active substances of yarrow activate the action of fibrin, but never lead to the formation of blood clots.

Sesquiterpene lactone and alpha-peroxyacfolide in yarrow can cause contact dermatitis. Yarrow preparations should not be used during pregnancy. Store the prepared infusion in a cool place for no more than 2 days.
