1 injection in each nasal passage; should not be applied more than 3 times a day. The drug is used for no more than 10 days.
Dosed nasal spray in the form of a clear, colorless to slightly colored liquid.

Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug, arterial hypertension, tachycardia, severe atherosclerosis, glaucoma, atrophic rhinitis, thyrotoxicosis, surgery on the meninges (in history), pregnancy, children under 2 years of age (for Ximelin Eco 0.05%); children's age up to 10 years (for Xymelin Eco 0.1%). With care: diabetes mellitus, angina pectoris III-IV functional class, prostatic hyperplasia.
pharmachologic effect
A vasoconstrictor for topical use in ENT practice. Alpha adrenergic agonist. When applied to mucous membranes, it causes vasoconstriction, as a result of which local hyperemia and edema decrease. With rhinitis, it makes nasal breathing easier.
Pharmacokinetics
When applied topically, it is practically not absorbed, plasma concentrations are so small that they cannot be determined by modern analytical methods.
Side effect
With frequent and / or prolonged use: mucosal irritation, burning, tingling, sneezing, dry nasal mucosa, hypersecretion. Rarely: swelling of the nasal mucosa (more often with prolonged use), palpitations, cardiac arrhythmias, increased blood pressure, headache, vomiting, sleep disorders, visual impairment. With long-term use in high doses: depressive state.
Drug interactions
Incompatible with MAO inhibitors and tricyclic antidepressants.
