COMPOSITION
The drug as an active ingredient in 1 ml contains: 20 mg of xylazine hydrochloride, as well as auxiliary components.
PURPOSE
An effective and safe muscle relaxation and sedative agent to reduce anxiety and immobilization of animals during veterinary treatments.
APPLICATION
Xylanit is intended for use by farm animals, dogs and cats for the purpose of sedation, anesthesia and muscle relaxation during clinical examination, X-ray studies, to immobilize restless and aggressive animals, including during transportation; as a means of premedication for surgical interventions, painful manipulations, as well as for general anesthesia.
DOSAGE
In cattle, Xylanit is injected intramuscularly, depending on the indications, at a dose of 0.25-1.5 ml per 100 kg of body weight.
Small ruminants - intramuscularly, depending on the indications, at a dose of 0.05-0.25 ml per 10 kg of animal weight.
For horses - intramuscularly at a dose of 7.5-15.0 ml / 100 kg or intravenously by jet slowly at a dose of 3.0-5.0 ml / 100 kg, depending on the indications and the type of higher nervous activity of the animal.
Dogs - intramuscularly at a dose of 0.5-1.0 ml / 10 kg of animal weight.
For cats - intramuscularly or subcutaneously at a dose of 0.15 ml / kg.
SIDE EFFECTS
In some animals, after using Xylanit, a short-term decrease in blood pressure, an increase in pulse and respiratory movements may be observed, these symptoms disappear spontaneously and usually do not require additional medical intervention. In case of severe respiratory failure, the animal is given a chest massage to restore normal breathing.
In cattle, high doses of Xylanit can cause hypersalivation. For operations in cattle in a lateral or dorsal position, support the chest and, if possible, tilt the head and neck to prevent aspiration of saliva or scar fluid. The use of atropine sulfate helps to reduce salivation. In order to prevent vomiting in dogs and cats, animals must be kept on a fast diet for 6-24 hours before using Xylanit.
OVERDOSE
In case of overdose and respiratory arrest, the animal is recommended to shower with cold water and artificial respiration. Specific antidotes for xylazine hydrochloride are alpha-adrenergic receptor blockers - yohimbine, tolazoline or atipamezole, which are administered to animals according to instructions.
CONTRAINDICATIONS
It is forbidden to use in females in the last third of pregnancy (except for cases of obstetrics), animals with mechanical damage to the gastrointestinal tract (blockage of the esophagus, volvulus of the stomach, hernia), with a history of impaired cardiac muscle conduction. With caution - for animals with lung diseases.
SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS
The period of elimination of the drug from meat is 5 days, from milk - 4 days.
STORAGE
Store in a dry, protected from direct sunlight and out of reach of children and animals at temperatures from + 5 В° C to + 25 В° C. Subject to the storage instructions, the shelf life is 3 years, after opening the bottle - no more than 28 days.
