Pharmacological action
A microcirculation enhancer combines the properties of theophylline and nicotinic acid. It causes the expansion of peripheral vessels, improves microcirculation, improves oxygenation and nutrition of tissues, reduces OPSS, strengthens heart contractions. It activates the processes of fibrinolysis, improves cerebral blood circulation, reduces blood viscosity, reduces platelet aggregation. With prolonged use, it helps lower cholesterol and atherogenic lipoproteins, increases the activity of lipoprotein lipase.
Indications
Raynaud's disease, endarteritis obliterans, atherosclerosis obliterans of the limb vessels, Buerger's disease, diabetic angiopathy, vascular thrombosis and embolism, trophic ulcers of the lower legs, hard-healing wounds, bedsores, cerebrovascular disease, coronary atherosclerosis, hypercholesterolemia, intraperitoneal hyperplasia, and pleuritus pylori.
Contraindications
Acute bleeding, acute myocardial infarction, mitral stenosis, acute heart failure, chronic heart failure in the decompensation stage, arterial hypotension, peptic ulcer of the stomach and duodenum in the acute phase, acute renal failure, glaucoma, pregnancy, hypersensitivity to xanthinol nicotinate.
Use during pregnancy and lactation
Contraindicated in pregnancy and lactation.
Special instructions
Use with caution with labile blood pressure.
Use with caution simultaneously with antihypertensive drugs.
Influence on the ability to drive vehicles and operate machinery
Use extreme caution in drivers of vehicles, as well as in patients involved in potentially hazardous activities.
Composition
Xanthinol nicotinate 150 mg / ml.
Dosage and administration
Inside - 150-600 mg 3 times / day after meals.
Intramuscularly administered at a dose of 300-600 mg 1-3 times / day iv injected slowly, in the supine position, at a dose of 300-800 mg 1-3 times / day. For iv drip, the dose is 150-900 mg.
In acute disorders of blood supply to tissues, along with the parenteral administration of xanthinol, nicotinate is used orally 300 mg 3 times / day.
Side effects of
From the cardiovascular system: possibly a decrease in blood pressure, a transient sensation of heat, redness of the skin.
From the digestive system: rarely - nausea, diarrhea, anorexia, gastralgia with prolonged use in high doses, an increase in the level of transaminases and alkaline phosphatase is possible.
Other: weakness, dizziness with prolonged use in high doses, glucose tolerance may change, serum uric acid level may increase.
Drug interaction
When used concomitantly with antihypertensive drugs (beta-blockers, ergot alkaloids, alpha-blockers, sympatholytics, ganglion blockers), with strophanthin, a sharp increase in their action is possible.
Overdose
Symptoms: decreased blood pressure, abdominal pain, vomiting.
Treatment: symptomatic.
