DESCRIPTION

Virosalm - vaccine against salmonellosis and Newcastle disease of pigeons and ornamental birds associated inactivated. The dosage form is a suspension for injection. In appearance, the vaccine is a yellowish-gray suspension with a loose sediment that easily breaks down into a homogeneous suspension.

COMPOSITION

The vaccine is made from bacterial cells of salmonellosis pathogens Salmonella typhimurium (strains 'D-1vt', 'M-2ft'), Salmonella enteritidis (strain '25 Java') and virus-containing extraembryonic fluid of chicken SPF of embryos infected with the Newcastle H disease virus (strains ), inactivated with formalin with the addition of 10% polyethylene glycol as an adjuvant.

BIOLOGICAL PROPERTIES

The vaccine induces the formation of an immune response in pigeons and ornamental birds to salmonellosis and Newcastle disease 14 days after a double injection, which lasts at least 11 months.

One immunizing dose of the vaccine contains at least 1.0 billion microbial cells of each of the strains of Salmonella typhimurium M-2ft, Salmonella typhimurium D-1vt, Salmonella enteritidis 25 Java and at least 106.4 lg ELD50 of the causative agent of Newcastle disease,

DOSAGE AND APPLICATION

The vaccine is intended for the immunization of pigeons and ornamental birds (ornamental chickens, ducks, geese, turkeys, musk ducks, guinea fowls, quails, pheasants, ostriches, parrots, etc.) against salmonellosis and Newcastle disease in farms that are threatened and unfavorable for these diseases.

Vaccinations are subject to: young animals of all types of birds, starting from 20 days of age; birds during the quarantine period, if they have not been immunized against salmonellosis and Newcastle disease, while they are released into the general herd no earlier than 14 days after re-vaccination; Poultry of the parent flock, back before the start of oviposition in order to create transovarian immunity in chicks; hind birds to exhibitions, sports, exchange, sale, transportation and events involving contact with other birds - potential carriers of salmonellosis and Newcastle disease.

The vaccine is injected intramuscularly into the pectoral muscle at a dose of 0.5 cm3 for a bird weighing up to 4 kg and 1.0 cm3 for a bird weighing more than 4 kg.

For vaccination, use sterile disposable or reusable syringes with fine needles, sterilized by boiling in distilled water for 30 minutes.

The vaccine injection site is disinfected with a 70% solution of ethyl alcohol or other antiseptics.

During the immunization process, the vaccine bottle is shaken periodically.

Birds are vaccinated twice, the first time at the age of 20 days, the second time after 28-30 days. Adult birds are revaccinated every 10 months twice with an interval of 28-30 days.

SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS

It is forbidden to vaccinate clinically sick and weakened birds.

10-12 days before vaccination of an adult livestock, it is advisable to deworm the birds with broad-spectrum drugs and treatment with insectoacaricides.

It is not recommended to vaccinate birds in unfavorable weather conditions (at air temperatures below minus 10 В° C and above 30 В° C) and during intensive molting.

Meat, offal and eggs from immunized poultry are used without restrictions, regardless of the timing of vaccination.

Violations of the vaccination schedule should be avoided, as this can lead to a decrease in the effectiveness of immunization of salmonellosis and Newcastle disease.

If the next vaccine injection is missed, it is necessary to immunize as soon as possible.

CONTRAINDICATIONS

It is prohibited to use the vaccine against salmonellosis and Newcastle disease of pigeons and ornamental birds associated with inactivated simultaneously with other immunobiological preparations, and it is also prohibited to vaccinate birds with other vaccines within 14 days after the next immunization.

SIDE EFFECTS

When using the vaccine in accordance with this instruction, side effects and complications, as a rule, are not noted.

SHELF LIFE AND STORAGE

The shelf life of the vaccine is 24 months from the date of issue, subject to the storage and transportation conditions. After the expiration date, the vaccine is not suitable for use.

The vaccine is stored and transported in a dry, dark place at a temperature of 2 В° C to 8 В° C.

Vaccine vials without labels, with an expired expiration date, with a violation of the integrity and / or tightness of the closure, with a changed color and consistency of the contents, with the presence of impurities, frozen, as well as vaccine residues unused within 8 hours after opening the vial, are subject to rejection and disinfection by boiling for 30 minutes.

PACKAGING

The vaccine is packaged in 10 ml (20 doses) in vials of appropriate capacity, hermetically sealed with rubber stoppers, reinforced with aluminum caps. Vaccine vials are packed in boxes (blisters). Each box (blister) with the vaccine includes instructions for use.
