DESCRIPTION

Vetbitsin-5 is a long-acting antibacterial drug in the form of a powder for preparing an injection solution. It is a powder of white or white with a yellowish tinge, forms a stable suspension with water.

COMPOSITION AND FORM OF ISSUE

1 bottle of Vetbitsin-5 contains a mixture of two antibiotics as active ingredients: benzathine benzylpenicillin - 1,200,000 units and benzylpenicillin novocaine salt - 300,000 units.

PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES

Vetbitsin-5 is a complex antibacterial agent containing two biosynthetic penicillins. The drug is active against gram-positive microorganisms, including Staphylococcus spp., Streptococcus pneumoniae, Corynebacterium diphtheriae, anaerobic spore-forming rods, Bacillus anthracis and gram-negative microorganisms, including Neisseria meningitidis, Actinomyces ispp. The mechanism of the bactericidal action of penicillins is based on the disruption of the synthesis of peptidoglycan (mucopeptide), which is part of the cell wall of microorganisms, by inhibiting the enzymes transpeptidase and carboxypeptidase, which leads to a violation of the osmotic balance and destruction of the bacterial cell. After intramuscular administration, Vetbicin-5 is absorbed into the bloodstream and remains at a therapeutic concentration for 7 to 10 days. It is excreted from the body mainly in the urine and partially in the feces. Vetbitsin-5, according to the degree of impact on the body of warm-blooded animals, belongs to the 3rd hazard class (substances moderately hazardous)

INDICATIONS

Vetbitsin-5 is prescribed for large and small ruminants, horses, pigs, fur animals, rabbits, turkeys, geese and ducks for the treatment of infectious diseases caused by microorganisms sensitive to benzylpenicillin.

DOSES AND METHOD OF APPLICATION

Before use, 5-6 ml of water for injection (or sterile isotonic sodium chloride solution, or 1-2% sterile novocaine solution) is added to the bottle with Vetbicin-5, the cap and stopper are punctured, the bottle is shaken thoroughly until a homogeneous suspension is formed, which is immediately injected into the animal deeply intramuscularly. If the needle enters the vessel and a drop of blood appears, the needle must be removed and the injection repeated in another place. The resulting suspension is administered to the animals once in the following single doses:

Cattle 10,000 -15,000 IU per 1 kg of animal weight

Horses 10,000-20,000 units per 1 kg of animal weight

Small cattle 15,000-20,000 units per 1 kg of animal weight

Pigs 15,000-20,000 units per 1 kg of animal weight

To furry animals 50,000-60,000 U per 1 kg of animal

Rabbits 40 000-50 000 U per 1 kg of animal

Turkeys, geese, ducks 100,000 units per 1 kg of poultry weight

If necessary, Vetbitsin-5 is used again after 7 to 10 days.

SIDE EFFECTS

Allergic reactions are possible in hypersensitive animals. With an increased individual sensitivity of the animal to antibiotics of the penicillin series and the appearance of allergic reactions, the use of the drug is stopped and desensitizing therapy is carried out.

SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS

Slaughter of animals for meat is allowed 14 days after the last application of Vetbicin-5. The meat of animals that were forcedly killed before the expiration of the specified period can be used as feed for fur animals. Milk from dairy animals obtained during the treatment period and within 7 days after the last injection of Vetbicin-5 is prohibited for food purposes. Such milk can be used after heat treatment for feeding animals.

SHELF LIFE AND STORAGE

Store with precautions according to list B. In a dry, protected from direct sunlight and out of reach of children and animals at temperatures from 5 to 25 В° C. The shelf life is 3 years.
