DESCRIPTION
Vermidin tablets (Vermidin tabulettae) - anthelmintic drug (for worms) in the form of tablets for the prevention and treatment of nematodes and cestodoses in cats. Acts on all types and stages of worm development. Designed for therapeutic and prophylactic deworming of cats. In appearance, the drug is a light yellow tablet with a greenish tinge, inclusions are allowed.
COMPOSITION
As active ingredients, the preparation in 1 tablet weighing 0.3 g contains praziquantel 15 mg and pyrantel pamoate 75 mg, and as auxiliary components potato starch, milk sugar, croscarmellose sodium, gelatin, calcium stearic acid.
PHARMACHOLOGIC EFFECT
Pirantela pamoat - provides paralysis of the muscular system of nematodes due to blockade of the transmission of nerve impulses. Pirantel has a moderate safety index. LD50 (mice, rats) - 170 mg / kg.
Fenbendazole - active against nematodes of the gastrointestinal tract and lungs. The mechanism of action of fenbendazole is based on two processes: violation of energy metabolism in helminths; violation of the sensitivity of the cells of the intestinal epithelium of nematodes. It has a high safety index LD50 (mice, rats) - 10000 mg / kg.
Praziquantel - increases the permeability of parasite membranes for calcium ions, causes spastic paralysis of the muscles. Intestinal cestodes after deworming can be digested in the intestines and not excreted in the feces. Praziquantel has a high safety index. LD50 (mice, rats) - 2000 mg / kg.
APPLICATION
For preventive and therapeutic deworming of nematodes, cestodes and mixed invasions in cats, the drug is used at the rate of 1 tablet per 3 kg of animal weight once. The drug is recommended for pregnant cats - 3 weeks before the expected birth, lactating cats - 2-3 weeks after birth under the supervision of a veterinarian. With a strong degree of invasion (infestation), the treatment must be repeated after 10 days. Preventive deworming should be carried out once every 3 months.
CONTRAINDICATIONS
The drug is not recommended for animals that are exhausted and sick with infectious diseases. Do not use the drug at the same time as anthelmintic drugs containing piperazine.
SHELF LIFE AND STORAGE
Store the drug in the manufacturer's sealed packaging, in a dry place protected from direct sunlight, separately from food and feed, at a temperature from 0 В° C to 25 В° C. The shelf life of the drug, subject to storage conditions, is 3 years from the date of production.
