Pharmacological action
Infusion of valerian rhizomes with roots has a sedative and antispasmodic (with respect to smooth muscles of the gastrointestinal tract and urinary system) effect.
Facilitates the onset of natural sleep.
Sedation is slow but stable enough.
Indications
Increased nervous irritability,
sleep disturbances,
functional disorders of the cardiovascular system,
gastrointestinal spasms.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to valerian preparations.
Children's age (up to 3 years).
Special instructions
With prolonged use of the drug in high doses, psychomotor reactions may be reduced - care must be taken when driving vehicles, working with mechanisms, etc.

Valerian rhizomes with roots
Dosage and administration
About 5 g (1 tablespoon) of the raw material is placed in an enamel bowl, pour 100 ml (1/2 cup) of hot boiled water, cover and insist on a boiling water bath for 15 minutes, cool at room temperature 45 min, filter, the remaining raw materials are squeezed.
The volume of the resulting infusion was adjusted with boiled water to 100 ml.
Infusion is prescribed orally 30 minutes after a meal.
Adults: 1 tablespoon 3-4 times a day.
For children over 12 years: 1 tablespoon 2-3 times a day.
For children from 7 to 12 years: 1 dessert spoon 2-3 times a day. Children from 3 to 7 years old - 1 teaspoon 2-3 times a day.
Shake the infusion before use.
Side effects
Possible: general lethargy, weakness, drowsiness, depression, decreased performance (especially when used in high doses).
For prolonged use: constipation.
In some cases: allergic reactions may develop.
Drug interaction
The drug enhances the effect of sleeping pills and other drugs that inhibit the central nervous system, as well as antispasmodics.
Storage conditions
Store in a dry, dark place.
Ready to infuse in a cool place for no more than 2 days.
