DESCRIPTION

Vakderm-F is a vaccine against feline dermatophytosis. Dosage form - liquid for injection. In appearance, the vaccine is a suspension of yellowish-brown dermatophyte cells of varying intensity.

COMPOSITION

The vaccine is made from the cells of dermatophyte cultures Trichophyton mentagrophytes, Microsporum canis and Microsporum gypseum grown on selective nutrient media with the addition of 0.3% formalin as a stabilizer (inactivator), and Ribotan 0.2% as an immunomodulator.

BIOLOGICAL PROPERTIES

Pharmacotherapeutic group: - immunobiological drug.

The vaccine induces the formation of an immune response in cats to dermatophytosis 25-30 days after a double injection. The tension of post-vaccination immunity persists for at least 18 months.

One commercial dose (1 cm3) of the vaccine contains 50-80 million elements of the fungi Microsporum canis, Microsporum gypseum and Trichophyton mentagrophytes.

The vaccine is harmless, areactogenic, has therapeutic properties, which are expressed in accelerating the process of recovery and restoration of the hair coat in animals with dermatophytosis.

DOSAGE AND APPLICATION

The vaccine is intended for the prevention and treatment of dermatophytosis in cats.

The vaccine is administered intramuscularly twice.

Injections are carried out into opposite extremities from the inner side of the thigh with an interval of 10-14 days in the following doses: for cats aged 1-3 months, 0.5 cm3 for each injection; over 3 months - 1.0 cm3 for each injection.

10 days before vaccination, it is necessary to deworm the animal.

During vaccination, the general rules of asepsis and antiseptics are observed. Needles and syringes are sterilized by boiling, or sterile disposable syringes are used, a separate needle for each animal. The injection site is treated with 70% alcohol. Before use, the ampoule or vial with the vaccine is heated to body temperature.

SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS

In case of an overdose of the vaccine in cats after immunization, individual sensitivity may be observed in the form of mild drowsiness, which passes after two to three days, the formation of a seal at the injection site. When such a reaction occurs, the animal is provided with rest, and when a local reaction is formed, the injection site is once treated with 5% iodine tincture.

Immunization of cats in the incubation period of the disease with dermatophytosis can provoke an accelerated manifestation of clinical signs of mycosis in the areas of localization of the pathogen (single or multiple mycotic foci appear on the skin of the animal). In 10-14 days, such animals are given a double injection of the vaccine in the same doses and with the same interval.

In some cats, after immunization, individual sensitivity in the form of mild drowsiness may be observed, which spontaneously disappears after two to three days. Animals that have shown a post-vaccination reaction are released from stress for 3-5 days.

Violations of the vaccination schedule should be avoided, as this can lead to a decrease in the effectiveness of immunoprophylaxis and immunotherapy of dermatophytosis. If the next vaccine injection is missed, it is necessary to immunize as soon as possible.

When using the vaccine in accordance with this instruction, side effects and complications are usually not observed.

It is forbidden to use the Vakderm-F vaccine in conjunction with other drugs that can suppress the immune system of the body of the vaccinated animal.

The terms of the possible use of products of animal origin after the administration of the Vakderm-F vaccine are not established.

Animals with increased body temperature, in the second half of pregnancy, as well as patients with invasive, infectious and non-infectious diseases are not subject to vaccination.
