Urotropin 40% 20ml
DESCRIPTION
Urotropine (Urotropine) - solution for injection as an antibacterial, antitoxic and diuretic agent for cattle and pigs. In appearance, the drug is a clear, colorless liquid.
COMPOSITION
Urotropin in 1 ml as an active ingredient contains: hexamethylenetetramine - 400 mg, as well as water for injection.
PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES
Urotropin belongs to the pharmacotherapeutic group of antibacterial drugs for systemic use.
It has a diuretic effect, increases the permeability of cell membranes, thereby accelerating the elimination of toxins from the body. In an acidic environment, especially in the kidneys and urinary tract, hexamethylenetetramine is broken down into formaldehyde and ammonia, which exhibit antibacterial effects.
The excretion of hexamethylenetetramine and its metabolites in the urine begins 40-60 minutes after administration and continues for 6-12 hours.
Urotropin, according to the degree of impact on the body, belongs to low-hazard substances (hazard class 4 according to GOST 12.1.007-76).
DOSAGE AND APPLICATION
Urotropin is used as an antibacterial, antitoxic and diuretic agent for inflammation of the kidneys, bladder and urinary tract in cattle and pigs.
The drug is used for intoxications and toxicoinfections in order to accelerate the elimination of toxins from the body. Urotropin is also used in complex therapy in the treatment of endometritis and mastitis with signs of intoxication in cows.
Urotropin is used intravenously (in pigs in the ear vein) 2-3 times a day in the following doses: for cattle: 1.5-2 ml per 10 kg of body weight; pigs: 0.5-0.7 ml per 10 kg of body weight.
The duration of use depends on the nature and severity of the course of the disease, but should not exceed 4 days.
SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS
Overdose symptoms have not been identified.
The peculiarities of the action of the drug during its first use and when it is canceled have not been established.
Avoid skipping the next dose of the drug, as this can lead to a decrease in therapeutic effectiveness. If one dose is missed, the drug should be administered as soon as possible.
When using Urotropin in accordance with this instruction, side effects and complications in farm animals, as a rule, are not observed.
The use of Urotropin does not exclude the use of other medicines.
After the application of Urotropin, animal meat can be used for human consumption not earlier than in a day.
The meat of animals that were forcedly killed before the expiration of the specified period can be used for feeding fur-bearing animals.
The use of milk for human consumption is allowed one day after the last administration of Urotropin.
Milk obtained from cows during treatment is used in animal feed after boiling.
CONTRAINDICATIONS
Contraindication to use is hypersensitivity to hexamethylenetetramine, dehydration, renal and hepatic failure, pregnancy.
SIDE EFFECTS
