Pharmacological action
Uroderm has a keratolytic effect, softens and moisturizes the skin, increases its elasticity.
Indications
In the complex treatment of skin diseases accompanied by excessive keratinization: ichthyosis and ichthyosiform dermatoses,
keratoderma,
psoriasis,
chronic eczema,
dry skin disease, follicular infections
It is used to soften the skin and remove horny deposits during warts (before removal) and to soften the nail plates in order to facilitate trimming and processing with the ingrown nail, onychomycosis, onychogryphosis, onychodystrophy, hard nails.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug Uroderm. It should not be applied to large surfaces with renal, hepatic and cardiovascular failure.
Use during pregnancy and lactation
Caution recommended, use after consultation with a doctor. It is not recommended to apply on large surfaces.
Use is possible if the potential benefit to the mother outweighs the potential risk to the fetus or child.
Composition
Active ingredient: urea (urea) (in terms of 100%) - 0.3 g.
Excipients: emulsion wax - 0.06 g, liquid paraffin (liquid paraffin) - 0.06 g, glycerol ( glycerol) (in terms of 100%) - 0.1 g, glycine (aminoacetic acid) - 0.002 g, ethanol (ethyl alcohol) 95% - 0.1 g, purified water to 1 g.
Dosage and Administration
Externally. In case of skin diseases accompanied by excessive keratinization (ichthyosis, ichthyosiform dermatoses, keratoderma, psoriasis, chronic eczema, Devergy’s disease, follicular keratosis, callosity, dry skin, the ointment is applied to the areas of accumulation of horny layers with a thin layer 2 times a day. With severe peeling, an occlusive dressing may be used. Before applying the ointment, surface wounds, erosions, cracks, crusts, abrasions are treated with antiseptics. Treatment is stopped after elimination of horny deposits.
With hyperkeratotic forms of fungal diseases, the ointment is applied 20-30 minutes before antifungal external agents.
With warts, the ointment is applied for 2-8 hours under an adhesive plaster, then the softened part of the wart is cut off, after which it can be removed.
To facilitate cutting and processing of nails with an ingrown nail, onychomycosis, onychogryphosis, onychodystrophy, hard nails, Uroderm ointment is applied to the nails for 20-30 minutes, then they are cut. With a significant thickening of the nails, the ointment is applied 2 times a day, glued with adhesive tape, treated after softening.
The duration of treatment for skin diseases depends on the location and severity of the process and can be several weeks. To facilitate cutting and processing of nails, the ointment can be used 2-3 times a month, the duration of its use in such cases is not limited.
Side effects
When used in the acute period of a skin disease in some cases, itching and redness of the skin at the places of application of the drug may be intensified, which requires its temporary cancellation to reduce the severity of the process. Allergic reactions are possible.
Drug Interaction
The ability of urea to loosen the stratum corneum creates conditions for enhancing the absorption of other external agents, which enhances their action. Ointment can be alternated (morning-evening) with any other external means, except keratolytic (salicylic ointment).
Storage Conditions
