DESCRIPTION

Tylosal 20% (Tylosalum 20%) is a drug for cattle, small cattle and pigs as a remedy for respiratory diseases. In appearance, it is a clear liquid from light yellow to dark yellow.

COMPOSITION

1 cm3 of the preparation contains 200 mg of tylosin.

PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES

Tylosin is an antibiotic from the macrolide group, it is active against most gram-negative (Escherchia coli, Salmonella spp., Proteus spp., Pseudomonas spp., Bordetella spp., Pasteurella spp., Haemophilus spp., Actinobacillus spp.) And gram-positive (Stpphylobacillus spp.) , Streptococcus spp., Corynebacterium spp., Clostridium spp.) Bacteria, as well as mycoplasma and chlamydia. The mechanism of the bacteriostatic action of tylosin is based on the suppression of protein synthesis in the microbial cell due to the formation of a complex with the 508-subunit of ribosomes.

When injected intramuscularly, the drug is well absorbed from the injection site into the bloodstream and penetrates into all organs and tissues of the animal's body. The highest levels of tylosin are found in the lungs, intestinal wall, liver, mammary glands and kidneys. With a single use, the therapeutic concentration of the antibiotic remains in the body for at least 20 hours.

The drug is excreted from the body mainly with urine, bile, and in active cows and with milk.
