Structure

zinc pyrithione (in terms of 100% substance) - 0.1 g (0.2%)

excipients: sodium lauryl sulfate, isopropyl myristate, colloidal silicon dioxide (aerosil), dexpanthenol (D-Panthenol), polysorbate 80 (tween 80), ethanol (rectified ethyl alcohol), tetrafluoroethane (freon 134a).

pharmachologic effect

Dermatoprotective drug.

Zinc pyrithione has anti-inflammatory, antibacterial and antifungal activity.

The antibacterial activity of zinc pyrithione is manifested against a number of gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria: Streptococcus spp., Staphylococcus spp., Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Proteus spp.

Zinc pyrithione reduces the intracellular level of ATP, promotes depolarization of cell membranes, causing the death of fungi and bacteria.

Antifungal activity is especially pronounced when acting on Pityrosporum ovale and Pityrosporum orbiculare, which cause inflammation and excessive flaking in dandruff, seborrheic dermatitis, psoriasis and other skin diseases.

The mechanism of anti-inflammatory action has not been studied.

Pharmacokinetics

Systemic absorption is negligible.

The drug is found in the blood in trace amounts.

Side effects

Possibly: allergic reactions.

The drug is usually well tolerated.

Indications

- psoriasis

Contraindications

Dosage

The drug is intended for external use in adults and children aged 1 year and older.

Shake the can before use.

Spray the drug on the affected skin area from a distance of about 15 cm for 3 seconds, while covering a surface equal to the area of the palm (which is equivalent to the consumption of 1 ml of the drug).

The affected area is treated 2-3 until a clinical effect is achieved.

For treatment with the preparation of the scalp, an additional nozzle is attached.

It is recommended to continue using the drug for 1 week after the symptoms disappear.

The duration of treatment for psoriasis is 1-1.5 months, repeated courses are carried out when signs of exacerbation appear

with atopic dermatitis - 3-4 weeks

with seborrheic dermatitis - 2 weeks.
