Troxerutin capsules should be swallowed whole with meals. Usually, 1 capsule is prescribed orally 3 times a day, as maintenance therapy - 1 capsule 2 times a day. The course of treatment is on average 3-4 weeks, the need for a longer treatment is determined individually.

active substance: troxerutin 300 mg

Troxerutin is a venotonic, angioprotective agent, a bioflavonoid. Reduces capillary permeability and fragility, strengthens the vascular wall, improves microcirculation, and has an anti-edema effect. Participates in redox processes, blocks hyaluronic acid of cell membranes. Increases the density of the vascular wall, reduces the exudation of the liquid part of the plasma and diapedesis of blood cells. Reduces inflammation in the vascular wall, limiting the adhesion of platelets to its surface. The use of Troxerutin is possible both in the initial and in the late stages of the treatment of chronic venous insufficiency, it is possible to use it as one of the components of complex treatment. After oral administration, the drug is absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract, Cmax in plasma is observed on average 2 hours after administration, the therapeutic plasma level is maintained for 8 hours. It is metabolized in the liver, partially excreted unchanged in urine and bile.

Application during pregnancy and lactation

Contraindicated in the first trimester of pregnancy and during breastfeeding, in the second and third trimesters of pregnancy, it can be used only as directed by a doctor.

Side effects

Interaction

With simultaneous use, it enhances the effect of ascorbic acid on the structure and permeability of the vascular wall. Overdose

In case of an overdose, the following symptoms may appear: agitation, nausea, headache and flushing. In case of an overdose, patients need to flush the stomach, take activated charcoal, consult a doctor. If necessary, symptomatic treatment is carried out.

Special instructions

There is no experience of using the drug in children under 15 years of age. In the treatment of superficial thrombophlebitis or deep vein thrombosis, the use of Troxerutin Zentiva does not exclude the need to prescribe anti-inflammatory and anti-thrombotic therapy.
