DESCRIPTION

Trocoxil (Trocoxil) 75mg - tablets for oral administration are used as an anti-inflammatory and analgesic agent for degenerative joint diseases in dogs. In appearance, Trokoksil is a triangular light brown tablet with an embossed content of Mavacoxib in the tablet on one side.

COMPOSITION

The Trokoksil 75 mg tablet contains 75 mg of mavacoxib as an active ingredient, and sucrose, microcrystalline cellulose, croscarmellose sodium, sodium lauryl sulfate, magnesium stearate and a meat-flavored flavor as auxiliary substances.

PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES

Pharmacotherapeutic group: non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug.

Trokoksil has anti-inflammatory, analgesic and antipyretic effects.

Mavacoxib, the active ingredient of Trocoxil, acts as a selective inhibitor of cyclooxygenase, preventing the transition of arachidonic acid to prostaglandins, which are involved in the development of the inflammatory process. In this case, the drug predominantly affects cyclooxygenase-P, which is induced in response to the development of inflammation. As a result, the synthesis of inflammatory prostaglandins, which cause inflammation, swelling and pain, is blocked. At therapeutic doses, Mavacoxib has a significantly weaker effect on cyclooxygenase-I, and therefore does not affect the synthesis of protective prostaglandins. Thus, Mavacoxib does not interfere with physiological processes in tissues, especially in the stomach, intestines, kidneys and platelets.

Trocoxil is rapidly absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract, reaches a therapeutic concentration 1 hour after administration, and the peak plasma concentration - 17 hours after administration, with a bioavailability of about 87%. The half-life in dogs is about 3 to 9 days. Mavacoxib is more than 98% bound to plasma proteins. Mavacoxib in unchanged form is excreted mainly in the bile.

Trokoksil according to the degree of impact on the body refers to moderately hazardous substances (hazard class 3 according to GOST 12.1.007).

DOSAGE AND APPLICATION

Trocoxil is administered to dogs, starting from 12 months of age, orally at a dose of 2 mg of Mavacoxib per 1 kg of animal weight before or during a meal. The drug is reapplied 2 weeks after the first dose, and then with an interval of 1 month. The course of treatment with Trokoksil should not exceed 7 doses of the drug, that is, 6.5 months.

The number of tablets depending on the weight of the animal: 31-37 kg - 75 mg tablet, 48-52 kg - 30 mg tablet + 75 mg tablet, 63-75 kg - two 7 5 mg tablets.

SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS

Overdose symptoms are vomiting, diarrhea. These symptoms occurred when the drug was administered at a dose of 15 mg / kg or more.

Avoid gaps in the introduction of the next dose of the drug, as this can lead to a decrease in therapeutic efficacy. If you miss one dose, you must enter it as soon as possible. Further, the interval until the next injection of the drug does not change.

Trocoxil is not intended for use in productive animals.

CONTRAINDICATIONS

Contraindications to the use of Trokoksil are: the age of the animal up to 12 months and / or body weight less than 3 kg; hypersensitivity of the animal to the components of the drug; peptic ulcer of the gastrointestinal tract, severe renal failure.

The drug is prescribed with caution to pregnant animals and during lactation.

SIDE EFFECTS

When using Trokoksil in accordance with this instruction, side effects and complications are usually not observed. In rare cases, some animals may have decreased appetite, diarrhea, vomiting, apathy, changes in renal biochemical parameters. In case of allergic reactions, the use of the drug is discontinued and antihistamines, adrenomimetics and / or other symptomatic treatment are prescribed.

SHELF LIFE AND STORAGE

The shelf life of the medicinal product, subject to storage conditions, is 36 months from the date of manufacture. It is forbidden to use Trokoksil after the expiration date.

Store Trokoksil in closed manufacturer's packaging in a place protected from direct sunlight, separately from food and feed at a temperature of 0 В° C to 30 В° C.
