Trocar for cattle
DESCRIPTION
An instrument for surgical intervention in tympanic disease (a disease resulting from the accumulation of a huge amount of gases in the rumen of cloven-hoofed farm animals) in cattle and small ruminants.
Trocar (from French trois-quarts) is an instrument used to puncture pathological and anatomical cavities in order to remove gases or liquids from them. It consists of a round metal stylet, one end of which is ground in the form of a three-edged pyramid, and the other is mounted in the handle, and a metal tube (sleeve) with a shield, which is put on the stylet.
The sharp stylet is made of high-strength steel, which eliminates the possibility of instrument breakage during the procedure. Scar piercing should only be performed by a specialist with veterinary education.
