pharmachologic effect

Tribestan is a herbal preparation obtained according to the original technology from the aerial part of the creeping tribulus plant (Tribulus terrestris L.), contains mainly steroidal saponins of the furostanol type. It has a general tonic effect and stimulates some functions of the reproductive system. In men, it restores and improves sexual libido, lengthens the erection time. Stimulates spermatogenesis by increasing sperm count and motility.

The mechanism of action of the creeping tribulus extract is still unknown.

The predominant substance protodioscin is thought to be metabolized in the body to dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA), which has beneficial effects on immunity, cell membrane integrity, erectile function, and cholesterol metabolism.

It is known that cholesterol is the starting substance for the synthesis of all steroids, including DHEA, testosterone and estradiol, which explains the hypolipidemic effect of Tribestan.

The other active furostanol saponins in the creeping tribulus extract are likely to modulate the effect of protodioscin.

Tribestan has a hypolipidemic effect, and in patients with lipoproteinemia it reduces the content of total cholesterol and LDL, does not affect the values ​​of serum triglycerides and HDL.

Pharmacokinetics

Pharmacological studies have not been conducted in humans.

Tribulus grass creeping dry extract contains a complex of biologically active substances, in connection with which pharmacokinetic studies are not possible.

Indications for use

As part of complex therapy:

- erectile dysfunction, incl.

accompanied by a decrease in libido

- infertility in men caused by idiopathic oligoasthenoteratozoospermia (a decrease in the number and quality of sperm in the sperm), surgical intervention for varicocele (varicose veins of the testicular spermatic cord)

immunological infertility

- dyslipidemia to lower total cholesterol levels.

Contraindications for use

- hypersensitivity to drug components

- prostatic hyperplasia

- severe cardiovascular diseases (stroke, myocardial infarction) during the last year or severe, unstable and uncontrolled cardiovascular diseases (unstable angina pectoris, chronic heart failure with symptoms at rest, CVS or conduction disorders such as sinoatrial block, AV block Grade II or III, bradycardia (< 50 beats / min)

- kidney disease (severe renal failure - CC < 25 ml / min or creatinine concentration> 180 μmol / l)
