Tiercal 100ml
DESCRIPTION
Tierkal is an antibacterial drug in the form of a suspension for injection. In appearance, it is a light yellow oily liquid.
COMPOSITION
Contains 50 mg of ceftiofur hydrochloride and auxiliary components in 1 ml as an active ingredient.
PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES
Tierkal is an antibiotic of the third-generation cephalosporin group, has a wide spectrum of antibacterial action, is active against gram-positive and gram-negative microorganisms, including Streptococcus spp., Actinomyces pyogenes, Staphylococcus spp., Salmonella choleraesuis, Escherureichia haemolyus, , Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae, Haemophilus parasuis, Klebsiella spp., Citrobacter spp., Enterobacter spp., Bacillus spp., Proteus spp., Fusobacterium necrophorum and Bacteroides melaninogenicus, including lactamase-producing strains. The mechanism of action of ceftiofur, which is part of tierkal, is to suppress the synthesis of the bacterial cell wall. After administration, ceftiofur is rapidly metabolized to form desfuroylceftiofur, which has an activity equivalent to ceftiofur against bacteria. The active metabolite binds reversibly to blood plasma proteins and concentrates in the tissues affected by the pathogen. The maximum concentration of ceftiofur and its metabolites in the blood is reached after 0.5 - 2 hours and is maintained at a therapeutic level for up to 24 hours from the moment of drug administration, while the activity of the drug does not decrease in the presence of necrotic tissues. Ceftiofur and its metabolites are excreted from the body of the animal mainly in the urine. 5 - 2 hours and is kept at a therapeutic level for up to 24 hours from the moment of drug administration, while the activity of the drug does not decrease in the presence of necrotic tissues. Ceftiofur and its metabolites are excreted from the animal body mainly in the urine. 5 - 2 hours and is kept at a therapeutic level for up to 24 hours from the moment of drug administration, while the activity of the drug does not decrease in the presence of necrotic tissues.
