Spray for external use 1% in the form of a clear, colorless or light yellow liquid with a characteristic odor of ethyl alcohol.

terbinafine hydrochloride 10 mg

rectified ethanol, propylene glycol, poloxamer (proxanol 268), purified water.

30 g - polypropylene bottles (1) with a dosing pump and a nozzle - cardboard packs.

pharmachologic effect

Antifungal drug, allylamine.

Possesses a wide spectrum of antifungal action.

Active against dermatophytes: Trichophyton rubrum, Trichophyton mentagrophytes, Trichophyton tonsurans, Trichophyton verrucosum, Trichophyton violaceum, Microsporum canis, Epidermophyton floccosum. In low concentrations, it has a fungicidal effect on dermatophytes, molds (including Aspergillus, Cladosporium, Scopulariopsis brevicaulis) and some dimorphic fungi. On yeast fungi of the genus Candida (mainly Candida albicans) and their mycelial forms, depending on the type, the drug has a fungicidal or fungistatic effect.

Thermicon disrupts the early stage of biosynthesis of the main component of the cell membrane of the fungus ergosterol by inhibiting the enzyme squalene epoxidase.

This leads to a deficiency of ergosterol and to intracellular accumulation of squalene, which causes the death of the fungal cell.

Terbinafine works by inhibiting the enzyme squalene epoxidase, located on the cell membrane of the fungus.

Pharmacokinetics

When the spray is applied externally, less than 5% of the dose is absorbed, thus the systemic effect of the drug is minimal.

Indications for use

- prevention and treatment of fungal skin infections, incl.

mycoses of the feet, tinea cruris, fungal infections of the smooth skin of the body (tinea corporis) caused by dermatophytes such as Trichophyton rubrum, Trichophyton mentagrophytes, Trichophyton tonsurans, Trichophyton verrucosum, Trichosporphyton violaceum

- versicolor versicolor, caused by Pityrosporum orbiculare (Malassezia furfur).

Contraindications for use

- hypersensitivity to drug components.

The drug should be used with caution in renal and / or hepatic insufficiency, alcoholism, inhibition of bone marrow hematopoiesis, tumors, metabolic diseases, occlusive vascular diseases of the extremities, in children under 12 years of age.

Dosage regimen

The duration of the course of treatment and the dosage regimen is set individually and depends on the localization of the process and the severity of the disease.

Outwardly, the drug is prescribed for adults 1-2 times / day, depending on the indications.

Before applying the drug, it is necessary to clean and dry the affected areas.

The drug is sprayed onto the affected skin and adjacent areas in an amount sufficient to moisturize them, and, in addition, applied to the adjacent areas of intact skin.

The dosage regimen for elderly patients is the same as for younger adults.

Overdose

No cases of overdose of Thermicon in the form of a spray for external use have been reported.

In case of accidental ingestion of the drug inside, one should expect the development of the same side effects as when taking Thermicon in the form of tablets (nausea, vomiting, pain in the lower abdomen and epigastric region, dizziness).

You should also take into account the content of ethanol in the preparation.

Treatment: activated carbon, if necessary, symptomatic supportive therapy.

Side effect

Local reactions: possibly redness, itching or burning sensation.

Allergic reactions are possible.
