Pharmacological action
Tetracycline is a broad-spectrum antibiotic. It acts bacteriostatically. It is active against gram-positive (Staphylococcus spp., Including those producing penicillinase Streptococcus spp., Streptococcus pneumoniae Clostridum spp., Listeria monocitogenes, Bacillus anthracis), and gram-negative microorganisms (Neisseria gonorrheella coli bresseribis colis, Bordellis colibris, spp., Salmonella Spp., genus Shigella), as well as Rickettsia spp., genus Chlamydia, Mycoplasma spp., family Spirochaetaceae. Resistant to Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Proteus, Serratia spp., Most strains of Bacteroides fragilis, most fungi are small viruses.
Indications
Infectious and inflammatory diseases caused by tetracycline-sensitive microorganisms, incl. pneumonia, bronchitis, empyema of pleura, tonsillitis, cholecystitis, pyelonephritis, intestinal infections, endocarditis, endometritis, prostatitis, syphilis, gonorrhea, brucellosis, rickettsioses, purulent infections of soft tissues, trachoma osteomyelitis, conjunctivitis, acne blepharitis.
Prevention of postoperative infections.
Contraindications
Hepatic insufficiency, leukopenia, mycoses, children under 8 years of age, pregnancy, lactation (breastfeeding), hypersensitivity to tetracycline.
Use during pregnancy and lactation
Contraindicated in pregnancy (tetracyclines pass through the placenta, accumulate in the bones and dental embryos of the fetus, disrupting their mineralization, can cause severe violations of bone tissue).
During treatment, it is necessary to stop breastfeeding (tetracyclines penetrate into breast milk and can adversely affect the development of bones and teeth of a child, and also cause photosensitivity reactions, candidiasis of the oral cavity and vagina in infants).
Special instructions
Due to the possible formation of insoluble complexes of tetracyclines with calcium and their deposition in the bone skeleton, enamel and dentin of the teeth, tetracycline drugs are not recommended for use during pregnancy and in children under 7 years of age.
