DESCRIPTION

Tetracycline ointment 1% is a broad-spectrum antimicrobial drug. In appearance, it is a homogeneous thick mass from white to slightly yellowish.

COMPOSITION

Contains in 100 g as an active ingredient - tetracycline hydrochloride - 3.0 g (30,000 IU), as well as an auxiliary substance - veterinary petroleum jelly up to 100 g.

PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES

Tetracycline ointment has an antimicrobial effect, has a wide spectrum of action. Hydrochloride, which is part of the oxytetracycline ointment, is active against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria. The drug has a wound healing effect.

INDICATIONS

Tetracycline ointment 1% is used in the treatment of infected wounds, pustular skin diseases, burns, furunculosis, folliculitis, eczema in animals.

APPLICATION

A thin layer of ointment is applied to unaffected areas 1-2 times a day or applied as a bandage, which is changed after 12-24 hours. The ointment is used daily until the signs of the disease disappear.

CONTRAINDICATIONS

The drug is contraindicated in case of hypersensitivity to tetracycline and related antibiotics (oxytetracycline, ulortetracycline, etc.).
