DESCRIPTION
Tetracycline tablets for the treatment of diseases, the causative agents of which are sensitive to tetracyclines. In appearance, it is a transparent slightly opalescent liquid of light yellow color. During storage, the formation of a slight gray-white precipitate is allowed, which disappears when shaken.
COMPOSITION
Tetracycline tablets contain an antibiotic of the tetracycline group - tetracycline base, produced by Streptomyces aureofaciens as an active ingredient. Produced in the form of tablets of greenish-yellow color, round in shape with a flat or biconvex surface weighing 0.2 g, containing 0.1 g (100,000 U) of tetracycline base.
PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES
Tetracycline acts against many gram-positive and gram-negative microorganisms, some acid-fasting bacteria, rickettsia, and large viruses. Not active against Proteus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, as well as most fungi and small viruses. After oral administration, the antibiotic is rapidly absorbed into the bloodstream and penetrates into many organs and tissues. The maximum concentration of tetracycline in the blood is created 1.5-2 hours after administration and is maintained at a therapeutic level for 10-12 hours. It is excreted from the body mainly in the urine.
PURPOSE
Prescribe young farm animals for the treatment of pasteurellosis, salmonellosis, colibacillosis, gastroenterocolitis and pneumonia, as well as other diseases, the causative agents of which are sensitive to tetracyclines.
DOSAGE AND APPLICATION
Tetracycline tablets are administered to sick animals inside with an interval of 12 hours for 5-7 days in the following doses: lambs and calves - 20 mg, piglets - 30 mg per 1 kg of animal weight.
SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS
Slaughter of animals for meat, which used tetracycline tablets, is allowed 6 days after the drug is discontinued. The meat of animals that were forcedly killed before the expiration of the specified period can be used for feeding fur-bearing animals or for the production of meat and bone meal.
SHELF LIFE AND STORAGE
With precaution (list B). Store in a dry, dark place, out of reach of children and animals, at a temperature of 5 to 20 В° C. Shelf life is 2 years.
