DESCRIPTION

Linimentum Synthomycini 5% (Linimentum Synthomycini 5%) is a drug for the treatment of diseases of the skin and mucous membranes in animals.

Dosage form: liniment for external use. In appearance, the drug is a homogeneous mass from white to light yellow.

COMPOSITION

Synthomycin liniment 5% contains 5 g of synthomycin as an active ingredient in 100 g, and 20 g of castor oil as auxiliary substances; 7 g of emulsifier No. 1; 0.6 g of purified sodium carboxymethyl cellulose; 0.2 g of sorbic acid; purified water - up to 100 g.

PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES

Synthomycin liniment 5% belongs to the pharmacotherapeutic group of antibacterial drugs for the treatment of diseases of the track and mucous membranes.

The antibiotic synthomycin, which is part of the ointment, has an antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory effect, accelerates the healing process.

According to the degree of effect on the body, Liniment syntomycin 5% according to GOST 12.1.007-76 belongs to low-hazard substances (hazard class 4), does not have a local irritant and resorptive-toxic effect.

INDICATIONS

Syntomycin liniment 5% is used in animals for the treatment of purulent wounds, pyoinflammatory diseases of the skin and mucous membranes, ulcers, and burns in animals.

APPLICATION

Syntomycin liniment 5% is applied to animals externally, applying an even thin layer on the affected area, or smeared on a sterile gauze napkin and fixed on the wound. Dressings are changed 1-2 times a day for 7-10 days, depending on the severity and nature of the damage. If necessary, pre-toilet wounds. To prevent the drug from licking off, small animals wear a neck collar or bandage.

Violation of the drug use regimen should be avoided, as this can lead to a decrease in therapeutic efficacy. If the interval between two treatments is accidentally extended, the preparation should be applied as soon as possible.

CONTRAINDICATIONS

A contraindication to the use of the drug is the increased individual sensitivity of the animal to the components of the drug (including a history).

Liniment syntomycin 5% should not be administered concurrently with other topical drugs.

OVERDOSE

Symptoms of drug overdose in animals were not identified.
