DESCRIPTION

Surolan is a complex drug for the treatment of otitis media and skin diseases of bacterial and fungal etiology in dogs and cats. The drug is a transparent syrupy suspension with a weak specific odor.

COMPOSITION

Contains as active ingredients: miconazole nitrate 23mg, polymyxin B sulfate 0.696mg, prednisolone acetate 5mg / ml, as well as auxiliary ingredients: colloidal silicon dioxide, liquid paraffin.

PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES

Complex drug for the treatment of otitis media in dogs and cats of bacterial, fungal and parasitic etiology. Miconazole nitrate is a synthetic imidazole derivative with a pronounced antifungal activity and a strong action against gram-positive bacteria. Polymyxin B sulfate is a polypeptide antibiotic with a bactericidal effect against gram-negative bacteria. Prednisolone acetate is a glucocorticoid with strong anti-inflammatory and antipruritic effects.

INDICATIONS

Surolan is used for the treatment in dogs and cats of therapeutic otitis media and dermatitis caused by: yeast and fungi (Microsporum spp., Trichophyton spp., Candida spp., Malassezia pachydermatis); gram-positive bacteria (Staphylococcus spp., Streptococcus spp.); gram-negative bacteria (Pseudomonas spp., Escherichia coli); ear mites (Otodectes cynotis).

Surolan also has anti-inflammatory and antipruritic effects. Used to treat inflammation of the paranoid glands.

APPLICATION

Ear diseases: 3-5 drops of the drug in each ear twice a day. In the case of fungal or bacterial otitis media, treatment should be continuous until a period of several days after the disappearance of clinical symptoms. In some chronic cases, treatment may take 2 to 3 weeks. If there is a need for longer treatment, it is necessary to contact the veterinarian to assess the condition of the animal.

When treating otodectosis, drip five drops daily for 14 days. In case of infestation of ear mites, it is necessary to treat both ears, even if the infestation occurs in only one. Skin diseases: apply the drug to the damaged area twice a day.

SIDE EFFECTS

As a rule, there are no side effects and complications when using Surolan in accordance with the instructions for use. During pregnancy and lactation, the drug is used without restrictions.

CONTRAINDICATIONS

Do not use for animals with perforated tympanic membranes and with increased individual sensitivity to the components of the drug.

STORAGE

Store in closed packaging, in a dry, dark place, separate from food and feed at a temperature of 5 В° C to 25 В° C. The shelf life of the drug, subject to storage conditions, is 2 years from the date of manufacture.
