DESCRIPTION
Surfagon is a synthetic nanapeptide, an analogue of the gonadotropin-releasing hormone LH-RG-luliberin for the treatment of ovarian hypofunction and follicular cysts, to increase the functional activity of the corpus luteum of the ovaries, increase the fertility of females, early induction of the sexual cycle .. Produced in the form of a sterile solution in 0.9 % sodium chloride solution with preservative nipagin.
COMPOSITION
1 ml of the drug contains 5 Ојg of active ingredient.
PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES
Surfagon stimulates the release of pituitary gonadotropins into the blood with a maximum 2 -3 hours after injection. The increased content of gonadotropins in the blood persists for 4-5 hours after administration. Unlike natural luliberin, the biological activity of surfagon is 50 times higher, which makes it possible to use this drug in micro doses and in short courses. Surfagon is degraded more slowly than natural luliberin by enzymes, which provides its stronger biological effect on the gonadotropic function of the pituitary gland. Within 3 hours after administration, the peptide is broken down into amino acids and excreted from the body.
DOSAGE AND APPLICATION
Surfagon is administered intramuscularly. For early induction of the sexual cycle, two methods are proposed. In the first method, the drug is recommended to be used in cows after calving, without complications in the postpartum period.
Surfagon is administered once 5 to 15 days after calving at a dose of 50 Ојg. Animals after administration of the drug can come into heat, but they must be inseminated no earlier than 45 days after calving. In the second method, the drug is administered once on 8-10 days after calving at a dose of 50 Ојg, and on days 18-20 after calving, regardless of the state of the uterus, it is necessary to introduce estrophan at a dose of 250 Ојg (2 ml) or 20 mg of enzaprost and 36 day 10 - 25 mcg of surfagon. It is not recommended to inseminate cows during induced heat. Insemination should be carried out no earlier than 45 days after 1 calving.
For the treatment of a mild form of ovarian hypofunction, surfagon is injected twice for the first time on days 8-12 of the sexual cycle at a dose of 50 mcg, again after 10 days at a dose of 10-25 mcg. For the treatment of a more pronounced form of ovarian hypofunction, on days 1, 3 and 5, 10 ml of a 1% oily solution of progesterone is injected intramuscularly, and on the 7th day, surfagon is administered at a dose of 50 Ојg. Animals are inseminated as they come into the hunt.
For the treatment of follicular cysts in cows, two methods of treating cysts are recommended, due to the fact that surfagon in cows causes a sharp increase in the concentration of LH in the blood, or ovulation of cystic follicles, or luteonization. In the first method, the drug is administered three times with an interval of 24 hours at a dose of 25 Ојg. On the 11th day after the first injection of surfagon, estrophan is injected at a dose of 2 ml (250 Ојg) twice with an interval of 10 to 12 hours. As animals come to hunt, they are inseminated. In the second method, to stimulate ovulation of ovarian follicles, surfagon is administered at a dose of 25 Ојg at the beginning of the next hunt, and after 14-16 hours, insemination is carried out and 10 Ојg of surfagon is reintroduced. Repeated insemination of animals is carried out 10-12 hours after the first insemination. In order to increase the effectiveness of insemination, 10 Ојg of surfagon is administered to cows no later than 2-4 hours from the start of the hunt,
To reduce (prevent) early embryonic mortality, the drug is administered once at a dose of 10-50 mcg on 8-12 days after insemination to increase the functional activity of the corpus luteum.
To increase the fertility of cows and heifers, a combined effect of estrophan and surfagon is used. For this purpose, after two or more inseminations without insemination, the next hunt is allowed in the animals. 10-14 days after the missed sexual heat, estrophan is injected twice with an interval of 10-12 hours at a dose of 250 Ојg (2 ml) or clathraprostin at a dose of 100-200 Ојg. At the beginning of the hunt or 70 hours after the first administration of estrophan (clathraprostin), 10-50 Ојg of surfagon is injected and the animals are inseminated according to the instructions for artificial insemination or the animals are inseminated without detecting hunting 14-18 hours after the administration of the surfagon. On 8 - 12 days after insemination, 10-50 Ојg of surfagon is again injected.
To stimulate poliovulation in donor cows, 25 Ојg of surfagon is administered in the first 2-4 hours of induced heat or 42-46 hours after treatment with prostaglandins of donor cows. Insemination is carried out according to the instructions.
To synchronize ovulation in sows in the first 2-6 hours after the manifestation of heat, 10-50 Ојg of surfagon is administered and after 14-18 hours, two-fold artificial insemination is carried out with an interval of 10-12 hours.
To stimulate sexual function and synchronize ovulation in sows after weaning, piglets are carried out using a combined administration of FFA and surfagon with or without the detection of animals in heat. In the first case, 24 - 48 hours after weaning of piglets, sows are injected with 1500 - 2000 IU FFA, and after 56 hours, regardless of the manifestation of heat, surfagon is injected once at a dose of 10-50 Ојg and inseminated according to the instructions for artificial insemination. To synchronize ovulation in sheep, heat is detected and 1-10 Ојg of surfagon is administered. Insemination is carried out in 12-14 hours. After 12 hours, re-insemination is carried out.
To stimulate sexual function in sheep with a detected heat or in the absence of the latter, 2.5-15 Ојg of surfagon is administered once. Insemination is carried out in 12-14 hours. After 12 hours, re-insemination is carried out.
SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS
There are no restrictions on the use of animal products during the period of use of the drug.
