DESCRIPTION
The complex preparation Sulteprim is a yellow powder, slightly soluble in water. Available in packages of 1 kg.
COMPOSITION
100 g contains 5 g of tetracycline (oxytetracycline), 10 g of sulfamethoxazole and 2 g of trimethoprim.
PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES
The antibacterial components of sulteprim are selected in such a ratio that they have a mutually reinforcing effect against most gram-positive and gram-negative microorganisms, including Escherichia, Salmonella, Pasteurella, Klebsiella, Corynebacterium, Streptococcus, Staphylococcus and some Proteus strains. When sulteprim is injected inside, the antibacterial components of the drug are absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract into the bloodstream and penetrate into all organs and tissues of animals. In therapeutic concentrations, the drug after a single injection is in the gastrointestinal tract and in the internal organs for 24 hours.
INDICATION
Colibacillosis, salmonellosis, bronchopneumonia and other diseases of bacterial etiology of calves, lambs, pigs and chickens.
APPLICATION AND DOSAGE
For animals, the drug is administered orally once a day for 3 to 5 days 30 minutes before feeding at a dose of 2.5 g per 10 kg of body weight or 250 mg / kg of animal body weight. In severe cases of the disease, the first dose of the drug is increased to 500 mg / kg of animal body weight. For chickens, the drug is used in a mixture with feed at the rate of 250 mg of the drug per 1 kg of body weight for 3 to 7 days.
SIDE EFFECTS
Not observed in recommended doses.
CONTRAINDICATIONS
Individual hypersensitivity of animals to tetracyclines, sulfonamides and trimethoprim.
FEATURES
Slaughter for meat of animals to which the drug was used is allowed after 9 days, and poultry - 5 days after the drug is discontinued. In the case of forced slaughter of a previously established deadline, the meat can be used as feed for carnivores or for the production of meat and bone meal.
