DESCRIPTION
A complex antibacterial preparation containing trimethoprim and sulfadiazine as active ingredients. Produced in the form of flat tablets of white or grayish color with a line in the middle of a tablet weighing 0.6 g. Packaged in plastic jars of 70 tablets.
COMPOSITION
Each Sulfa 480 tablet contains 80 mg of trimethoprim and 400 mg of sulfadiazine.
PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES
Trimethoprim and sulfadiazine, which are part of the drug, have a synergistic effect, have a bactericidal effect on gram-positive and gram-negative microorganisms that cause infectious diseases. 'Sulf' disrupts the biosynthesis of folic acid and blocks the metabolism of tetrahydrofolic acid, which is necessary for the development of bacteria. The drug is rapidly absorbed into the bloodstream and penetrates into all organs and tissues of the animal. The maximum concentration of Sulfur in the blood is observed 3 to 4 hours after application and is maintained for at least 12 hours. The drug is excreted in the urine.
INDICATIONS
Sulfur is used in young cattle and small ruminants, foals, pigs and fur-bearing animals for the treatment of bacterial infections of the respiratory system, gastrointestinal tract, genitourinary system, skin, wound infections, pasteurellosis, salmonellosis and other diseases, the causative agents of which are sensitive to the drug.
APPLICATION
The drug is given to animals in a mixture with food, or after being dissolved in water or milk. Daily dose: Sulf-granulate - 5 g (full measuring spoon) per 20 kg, Sulf-480 - 1 tablet per 16 kg of animal weight. The daily dose of the drug is given in two doses with an interval of 12 hours. The course of treatment is 5-7 days.
CONTRAINDICATIONS
Increased individual sensitivity to the active components of the drug, dysfunctions of the hematopoietic organs, liver and kidneys, pregnant and lactating animals.
SIDE EFFECTS
When using the drug according to the instructions, side effects and complications are not observed. With increased sensitivity to sulfonamides, allergic reactions are possible.
SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS
Slaughter of animals for meat is allowed no earlier than 9 days after the last use of the drug. The meat of forcedly killed animals can be used to make meat and bone meal.
STORAGE AND SHELF LIFE
Store the drug with caution (list B), in its original packaging, protected from light and moisture, out of reach of children and animals, separately from food and feed, at a temperature not exceeding 25 В° C. Shelf life is 2 years.
