pharmachologic effect

Antiseptic combined preparation for topical use in ENT practice and dentistry. 2,4-dichlorobenzyl alcohol is a benzene derivative, antiseptic. Amylmetacresol is a phenol derivative, antiseptic. The mechanism of action of 2,4-dichlorobenzyl alcohol and amylmetacresol is associated with the coagulation of proteins of microbial and fungal cells, as well as with interaction with lipids of cell membranes, which determines the effectiveness against pathogens. The drug has an antiseptic effect in infectious and inflammatory diseases, is active against a wide range of gram-positive and gram-negative microorganisms in vitro, has antifungal and antiviral effects in vitro. The drug has a soothing effect on the mucous membrane of the oral cavity and reduces irritation and sore throat, incl. when swallowing and speaking.The drug reduces the intensity of the sore throat 5 minutes after the start of resorption. The analgesic effect lasts up to 2 hours. A pronounced analgesic effect in comparison with placebo is observed with the course of administration of the drug for 3 days.

Pharmacokinetics

2,4-dichlorobenzyl alcohol is metabolized in the liver and excreted by the kidneys.

There are no data on the metabolism of amylmetacresol.
