DESCRIPTION

Stop cystitis - tablets for oral use for the treatment and prevention of inflammatory and infectious diseases of the urinary tract and urolithiasis in cats. In appearance, the drug is a round-shaped, green-coated tablet.

COMPOSITION

1 tablet contains 12.5 mg nitroxoline, 10 mg drotaverine, 10 mg juniper fruit extract, 10 mg knotweed extract (knotweed), 10 mg nettle leaf extract, 10 mg licorice root extract, 10 mg lingonberry leaf extract, 10 mg extract birch leaves, as well as auxiliary components.

PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES

Stop cystitis tablets belong to the group of combined antimicrobial drugs. They have antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, antispasmodic, diuretic and saluretic effects.

Nitroxoline, which is part of the drug, is a derivative of 8-hydroxyquinoline, is active against a wide range of gram-positive, gram-negative bacteria and some fungi that cause urinary tract infections, including Staphylococcus spp., Ureaplasma urealyticum, Corynebacterium spp., Escherichia coli, spp. After oral administration, it is rapidly absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract. It is excreted by the kidneys unchanged. High concentrations of nigroxoline are determined in urine.

Drotaverine hydrochloride has a long-term antispasmodic, myotropic and vasodilating effect, eliminates spasms of smooth muscles of the urinary tract and tenesmus of the bladder. The maximum concentration in the blood serum for oral administration is recorded at 45-60 minutes. The metabolism of the drug occurs in the liver. The biological half-life is 16-22 hours. In 72 hours it is practically excreted from the body, approximately 30% with urine, and 50% with feces. It is mainly excreted in the form of metabolites, unchanged in the urine is not detected.

The complex of biologically active components of medicinal plants (flavonoids, essential oils, tannins, vitamins, mineral compounds) has antiseptic, diuretic, antispasmodic and anti-inflammatory properties, promotes the elimination of calculi in case of urolithiasis.

INDICATIONS

Stop cystitis tablets are prescribed for dogs and cats for the treatment and prevention of acute and chronic inflammatory and infectious diseases of the urinary tract (cystitis, pyelonephritis, urethritis) and urolithiasis, prevention of infections after diagnostic procedures and in the postoperative period after removal of urinary stones.

DOSAGE AND APPLICATION

Stop-cystitis tablets are used for animals individually with food or injected directly onto the root of the tongue for therapeutic purposes twice a day, with prophylactic purposes - once a day for 5-7 days. Depending on the physiological state of the animal and the nature of the course of the disease, the duration of use and the possibility of re-prescribing Stop-cystitis tablets are determined by the veterinarian individually in a particular case.

SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS

Overdose symptoms have not been identified in animals.

When the drug is first administered, the animal may experience profuse salivation.

Skipping the next dose of the drug should be avoided, as this can lead to a decrease in its effectiveness. If one dose is missed, the use of the drug is resumed in the same dosage and according to the same scheme.

The drug is compatible with other drugs, feed and feed additives.

Stop cystitis tablets are not intended for use in productive animals.

CONTRAINDICATIONS

Contraindication to use is acute heart and liver failure, increased individual sensitivity of the animal to the components of the drug.
