Pharmacological action
Gaviscon® Forte - a drug that forms a protective gel barrier and prevents the contents of the stomach back into the esophagus, preventing heartburn. It is very important that Gaviscon® Forte is not absorbed into the bloodstream. Therefore, it can be used to quickly relieve heartburn at any stage of pregnancy.
Indications
Symptomatic treatment of dyspepsia associated with increased acidity of the gastric juice and gastroesophageal reflux (heartburn, sour belching) feeling of heaviness in the stomach after eating, including during pregnancy.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to the drug, children (12 years old).
Use during pregnancy and lactation
GavisconВ® forte may be used during pregnancy and lactation (breastfeeding).
Composition of
10 ml of suspension contains: active substances: sodium alginate 1000 mg, potassium hydrogen carbonate 200 mg, and excipients: calcium carbonate 200 mg, carbomer 40 mg, methyl parahydroxybenzoate 40 mg, propyl parahydroxybenzoate 6 mg, sodium hydroxide 14.44 mg, sodium saccharinate 10 mg, mint flavor 6 mg, purified water up to 10 ml.
Dosage and Administration
Inside.
Adults and children over 12 years of age: 5 to 10 ml after meals and at bedtime. The maximum daily dose is 40 ml. For elderly patients, dose changes are not required. Using sachets: Before opening a sachet, remember it with your fingers while stirring the contents.
Side effects
Possible: allergic reactions - urticaria, bronchospasm, anaphylactic reaction.
Drug Interaction
Calcium carbonate, which has antacid activity, therefore, at least 2 hours should elapse between taking Geviskon® forte and other drugs, especially when used in conjunction with histamine H2 receptor blockers, tetracycline antibiotics, digoxin, fluoroquinolones, iron salts, ketoconazole, neuroleptics, thyrocytes, blockers, ACS, chloroquine, diphosphates.
Overdose
Symptoms: bloating.
Treatment: carrying out symptomatic therapy.
Storage conditions
Store at 15 - 30 РC. Keep out of reach of children.
