DESCRIPTION

Simparica - tablets for oral use in dogs for the treatment and prevention of entomoses. In appearance, Simparica is a square tablet with an inscription on one side of the tablet: 40 (dosage 40 mg / tab.) With rounded corners, brown speckled.

COMPOSITION

PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES

Simparica belongs to the group of insectoacaricidal preparations of systemic action.

Sarolaner is a compound of the isoxazoline group, which is active against fleas, ixodid, sarcoptoid, psoroptoid and demodectic ticks parasitizing dogs. Sarolaner acts at the neuromuscular synapses of arthropods and inhibits the function of the neurotransmitter receptor, gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) and glutamate receptor, causing uncontrolled neuromuscular activity leading to the death of insects and ticks.

After oral administration, sarolaner is rapidly absorbed in the gastrointestinal tract (bioavailability is> 85%), enters the systemic circulation, reaching maximum plasma concentration in less than 3 hours, penetrates into most organs and tissues, is practically not metabolized, is excreted from the body into unchanged form, mainly with bile and feces, the half-life is 10-12 days.

After oral administration of the tablet, the effect of the drug persists for at least 5 weeks (35 days). The drug causes the death of fleas parasitizing on a dog no later than 3 hours later, and of ixodid ticks no later than 8 hours after the administration of the drug. The death of fleas occurs before the laying of eggs, which prevents the contamination of premises with eggs and larvae. Simparica reduces the risk of transmission of babesiosis (Babesia canis), Lyme disease (Borrelia burgdorferi) and anaplasmosis (Anaplasma phagocytophilum) due to the elimination of ticks prior to transmission of the aforementioned diseases.

According to the degree of impact on the body, Simparica belongs to low-hazard substances (hazard class 4 according to GOST 12.1.007) with weakly pronounced cumulative properties, in the recommended dose it does not have mutagenic, carcinogenic, embryotoxic and teratogenic activity.

PURPOSE

DOSAGE AND APPLICATION

Simparica is administered to dogs at any time of the year, once individually orally, by hand or mixed with food, or injected into the mouth forcibly at a minimum dose of 2 mg / kg of animal weight. Food intake does not affect the bioavailability of sarolaner.

Doses of Simparica depending on the weight of the animal: for dogs weighing 10.1-20.0 kg - one 40 mg tablet.

When choosing a dose, it is not allowed to break and divide the tablets.

Make sure the dog has completely swallowed the required dose.

During flea and tick activity season, the drug should be used monthly.

SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS

In case of an overdose of the drug, in very rare cases, neurological symptoms can be observed: decreased appetite and weight gain, depression, salivation, tremor, ataxia, unsteady gait. In such cases, the use of the drug Simparica is stopped and symptomatic therapy is carried out.

The peculiarities of the action at the first use of the drug and at its cancellation were not revealed.

If necessary, the use of the drug for pregnant and lactating bitches should be carried out under the supervision of a veterinarian.

Violations of the drug use regimen should be avoided, as this can lead to a decrease in its effectiveness. If the next dose is missed, the use of the drug is resumed in accordance with this instruction.

CONTRAINDICATIONS

Increased individual sensitivity to the components of the drug, as well as severe liver and kidney dysfunction. Patients with infectious diseases and convalescent animals, as well as puppies under 8 weeks of age, are not subject to treatment.

SIDE EFFECTS

With proper use and dosage, side effects are usually not observed. With increased individual sensitivity to the components of the drug and the appearance of allergic reactions, its use is stopped and the animal is prescribed antihistamines, adrenomimetics and symptomatic therapy.

SHELF LIFE AND STORAGE

Store the medicinal product in the manufacturer's sealed packaging in a dry place, protected from direct sunlight, out of reach of children and animals, separately from food and feed, at a temperature of 2 В° C to 30 В° C.
