Whole Peeled sepals and peduncle false fruits and parts (hypanthium) of various shapes: from spherical, ovoid or oval to a very elongated spindle-shaped fruit length of 0.7-3 cm, diameter - 0.6-1.7 cm. At the top of the fruit there is a small round hole or pentagonal platform.
Fruits consist of an overgrown fleshy, ripening juicy receptacle (hypanthium) and numerous small fruits - nuts, enclosed in its cavity. The walls of dried fruits are hard brittle, the outer surface is shiny, less often dull, more or less wrinkled. Inside the fruit is abundantly lined with long, very stiff, bristly hairs. Nuts are small, oblong, with weakly pronounced edges. The color of the fruit is from orange-red to brownish-red, brownish-black, the nuts are light yellow, sometimes brownish.
There is no odor. The taste of the aqueous extract is sweet and sour, slightly astringent.

Pharmacological action of
Infusion of rose hips helps to increase nonspecific resistance of the body, enhance tissue regeneration, decrease vascular permeability, takes part in carbohydrate and mineral metabolism, hormone synthesis, has some choleretic effect.
Indications
Prevention of hypovitaminosis C and P as part of complex therapy: conditions accompanied by a deficiency of vitamins C and P, including asthenic conditions, the recovery period after infectious and colds, surgical operations.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to the drug, cholelithiasis, children under 6 months of age.
Use during pregnancy and lactation
During pregnancy and lactation use only if if the intended benefit to the mother outweighs the risk to the fetus and the baby.

Dosage and administration
About 10 g (1 tablespoon) of the fruit is placed in an enamel bowl, pour 200 ml (1 cup) of hot boiled water, cover and insist on a boiling water bath for 15 minutes, cool at room temperature for 45 minutes, filter, the remaining raw materials are squeezed. The volume of the resulting infusion was adjusted with boiled water to 200 ml.
Take orally in a warm form 2 times a day after meals: adults and children over 12 years old - 1/2 cup children from 6 to 12 years old - 1/4 cup, 3 to 5 years old - 2 tablespoons, from 1 years to 2 years - 1 tablespoon, from 6 months to 1 year - 1-2 teaspoons. The course of treatment is 3 to 4 weeks. Before use, it is recommended to shake the infusion.
