DESCRIPTION
Sex Barrier is a drug for the regulation of sexual heat in males. Preparative form: solution for oral administration. In appearance, the drug is a light yellow, greenish-yellow or golden-yellow solution.
COMPOSITION
The drug as active ingredients in 1 ml contains: water-soluble mepregenol acetate - 6 mg, ethinyl estradiol - 0.3 ml. Contains as auxiliary substances: olive oil (or PEG-400) - up to 1 ml.
PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES
Sex Barrier is a hormonal contraceptive drug designed to regulate sexual desire. Pharmacological group: hormones and their antagonists.
The progestogen (mepregenol acetate) and estrogen (ethinylestradiol), which are part of the drug, act on the hypothalamic-pituitary system of animals to reduce the secretion of gonadotropic hormones (FSH and LH) from the pituitary gland. As a result, folliculogenesis in the ovaries is suppressed and ovulation of the follicles stops. Ethinyl estradiol in combination with mepregenoacetate enhances the contraceptive effect by changing the biological properties of the vaginal environment, increases the viscosity of the cervical mucus, which inhibits sperm motility, and changes in the endometrium of the uterus prevent the implantation of a fertilized egg. In males, testosterone levels are sharply reduced, and, consequently, sexual activity.
The active substances of the drug are well absorbed in the intestine and, biotransformed in the liver, are completely excreted from the body in the urine in the form of metabolites within 48 hours.
Sex Barrier drops for bitches and males in terms of the degree of impact on the body are classified as low-hazard substances (hazard class 4 according to GOST 12.1.007-76), in recommended doses they do not have a negative effect on the animal body.

PURPOSE
The drug Sex Barrier drops for females and males is used to regulate sexual activity, prevent unwanted pregnancy, delay and stop heat in females, and also to suppress sexual arousal and the associated aggressive behavior in males.
APPLICATION
The drug is administered orally, when the first signs of sexual arousal appear, applying in the form of drops on the tongue or on a small piece of food twice a day with an interval of 12 hours until the sexual arousal stops completely. The daily dose depends on the weight of the animal:

Large dogs over 30 kg add 1 drop for each subsequent 5 kg of live weight.
Course duration: 5-7 days. If necessary, the administration of the drug is prolonged until complete sedation plus one day. For young males showing anxiety, on the first day of the course, a double single dose is prescribed at a time.
In 2-3 months after discontinuation of the drug, the reproductive function of the body is completely restored.
SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS
In case of individual intolerance to the components of the drug, its use is stopped. Empty packages from under the medicinal product must not be used for household purposes, they must be disposed of with household waste.
CONTRAINDICATIONS
The drug is contraindicated in Greyhound dogs, pregnant and lactating bitches, animals that have not reached puberty, as well as breast and genital neoplasms, diabetes mellitus and urolithiasis.
