CHARACTERISTIC

Among the numerous representatives of the genus, it stands out for its harmony and beauty, undemanding to growing conditions, frost resistance and resistance to air pollution, surpassing many brethren in this indicator. In nature, it occurs singly or in small groups along rivers, along the northern slopes of the mountains of western North America. A tree up to 30-45 m in height, with a trunk 70-120 cm in diameter, with a symmetrical cone-shaped crown of horizontally whorled branches, reaching the ground when isolated. The bark is fissured, scaly, grayish brown. Needles 20-30 mm long, 1-1.5 mm wide, tetrahedral, dense and strongly prickly, from green to silvery-whitish, with 3-5 white stomatal lines on each side, with or without a whitish bloom, spaced from the shoot ; needles last 4-6 (and up to 9) years. Cones are cylindrical, 5-10 cm long and 2-3 cm in diameter. Most of them remain on trees until the next fall. Lives up to 400-600 years.

MODE OF APPLICATION

Place the seeds on a tray lid and soak them in room temperature water for 3 days, remembering to change the water once a day. After soaking, transfer the seeds to a clean surface and drain the water by releasing the pan cover.

Pour expanded clay on the bottom of the plastic pot, and on top pour fertile soil, leaving a small amount of earth in the bag.

Place the pot on a tray lid. Excess water when watering through the drainage holes in the pot will accumulate on the lid.

Sprinkle generously with room temperature water.

Spread the seeds evenly over the soil surface.

Sprinkle the seeds with a layer of fertile soil (2-3 mm) and compact it slightly.

Pour water at room temperature again and cover with transparent plastic, airing once a day.

Keep fertile soil moist at all times (watering 2-4 times a week). It is better to use a spray bottle during seed germination.

Choose a place well lit by the sun for your pet. A window sill not on the south side is ideal to exclude prolonged direct sunlight. The optimum temperature regime is 18-25 В° C.

Be patient, seedlings will appear within 10-40 days. Remove the plastic after emergence.
