DESCRIPTION

Immunoserum is a serum for the treatment and prevention of viral pneumoenteritis in calves. Dosage form - injection solution. In appearance, the serum is a transparent opalescent liquid from straw to light brown color. At the bottom of the bottle, a slight sediment that breaks easily when shaken can form.

COMPOSITION

The serum contains specific antibodies against parainfluenza-3 viruses, infectious rhinotracheitis, mucosal diarrhea, rota, corona and bovine adenovirus, which are the main pathogens of intestinal and respiratory diseases in calves. The serum is made from the blood of clinically healthy bull-producers hyperimmunized with vaccine strains, the indicated viruses or antigens of inactivated viruses. The serum is preserved with a phenol solution at a concentration of 0.5%.

PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES

The serum contains specific antibodies to parainfluenza-3 viruses, infectious rhinotracheitis, diarrhea, rota, corona and adenovirus.

The serum provides the formation of passive immunity in calves against these diseases, lasting up to 3 weeks.

The serum is harmless, has preventive and medicinal properties.

PURPOSE

The serum is intended for the treatment and specific prophylaxis of viral acute gastrointestinal and respiratory diseases of calves in dysfunctional farms for these diseases.

APPLICATION

When treating calves with enteritis, serum is injected intramuscularly at a dose of 25-40 cm3 in combination with antibiotics 1-2 times a day for 3-4 days or intravenously at the same dose after 2-3 times dilution of the serum with sterile saline solution 2-3 times with an interval of one day.

At the same time, whey is added in the same dose while drinking colostrum (milk) to sick calves.

When treating respiratory diseases, serum is injected intramuscularly at the rate of 1.0-1.5 cm? per 1 kg of animal weight in combination with antibiotics once a day for 3-5 consecutive days or intravenously in the same dose after 2-3 times dilution of serum with sterile saline solution 2-3 times with an interval of two days.

For prophylactic purposes, the serum is applied to the calf subcutaneously or intramuscularly at a dose of 15-20 cm? 2-3 hours after his birth and again twice after 1 and 3 days. At the same time, whey is added to colostrum (milk) at the same time in a dose of 25-30 cm?.

Before use, the serum is heated in a water bath at a temperature of plus 36-37 В° C. Syringes and needles are sterilized by boiling. A separate sterile needle is used to immunize each animal. The injection site is disinfected with 70% alcohol.

SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS

Violations of the serum administration scheme should be avoided, as this can lead to a decrease in the preventive and therapeutic effect.

The use of serum with antibiotics and sulfonamides is allowed.

Slaughter products and meat obtained from animals treated with whey are sold without restrictions.

CONTRAINDICATIONS

There are no contraindications to the use of serum.

OVERDOSE

Symptoms of the manifestation of pathological signs in animals with an overdose of serum have not been established.

SIDE EFFECTS

The side effects of serum on the animal organism during the initial and repeated administration have not been established.

When serum is administered in accordance with this instruction, side effects and complications are usually not observed. In some animals, allergic reactions (salivation, fever, cyanosis of the mucous membranes, etc.) are possible. In this case, it is necessary to apply symptomatic treatment with antihistamines (diphenhydramine, diprazine, diazolin, caffeine, atropine) in the recommended doses, and the serum should be administered fractionally in two doses in a half dose with an interval of 3-4 hours.
