DESCRIPTION
Globcan-5 is a solution for injection against canine plague, parvovirus, coronavirus enteritis and adenovirus infections of dogs. Immunoglobulin is a colorless or slightly yellowish, transparent or opalescent liquid. During long-term storage, the formation of a small precipitate is allowed, which, when shaken, easily breaks down into a uniform suspension.
COMPOSITION
Globcan-5 consists of a highly purified fraction of globulins isolated from the blood serum of horses immunized with canine plague pathogens, parvovirus and coronavirus enteritis, and canine adenovirus infections.
BIOLOGICAL PROPERTIES
Polyvalent immunoglobulin Globcan-5, when administered to dogs for prophylactic purposes, provides passive immunity against plague, parvovirus, coronavirus enteritis and adenovirus infections, which lasts for 2 weeks. It has medicinal properties, which are maximally manifested in the incubation and prodromal periods of the infectious process.
DOSAGE AND APPLICATION
Globcan-5 is used for the prevention and treatment of canine plague, parvovirus, coronavirus enteritis and adenovirus infections of dogs.
Immunoglobulin Globcan-5 is injected subcutaneously or intramuscularly, observing the generally accepted rules of asepsis; only sterile materials and instruments are used for injection. A separate needle is used for each animal.
For the prevention of these viral diseases, animals weighing up to 5 kg are injected with 2.0 ml, over 5 kg - with 4.0 ml of the drug.
For therapeutic purposes, Globcan-5 is administered in the indicated doses 1-3 times with an interval of 12-24 hours, depending on the severity of the pathological process.
The greatest therapeutic effect is achieved when used in the initial stage of the disease.
SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS
Overdose cases when using Globkan-5 have not been established.
With the introduction of immunoglobulin, some dogs may experience a slight increase in temperature and allergic reactions. To exclude these phenomena, it is recommended that one of the antihistamines (diphenhydramine, suprastin, tavegil, diprazine, etc.) be administered parenterally to the animal 10-15 minutes before using the drug.
Violations of the immunoglobulin regimen should be avoided, as this can lead to a decrease in the preventive and therapeutic effect.
Globcan-5 can be used in combination with antibiotics, sulfonamides, probiotics and other drugs intended for symptomatic treatment.
Immunoglobulin is not used in the same syringe with other biological products and medicines.
The timing of the possible use of products of animal origin after the introduction of the drug is not established.
CONTRAINDICATIONS
It is forbidden to administer Globcan-5 to dogs that are sick and weakened with clinical signs of other infectious diseases.
SIDE EFFECTS
When using the drug in accordance with this instruction, side effects and complications, as a rule, are not observed.
SHELF LIFE AND STORAGE
The shelf life of immunoglobulin is 2 years from the date of issue, subject to storage and transportation conditions. After the expiration date, the drug is not suitable for use.
Globcan-5 is stored and transported in a dry, dark place at a temperature of 2 to 10 В° C. Should be stored out of the reach of children.
Vials with immunoglobulin containing an impurity, the precipitate that does not break when shaking, with a broken seal, as well as residues of immunoglobulin not used on the day of opening the vials, are discarded and rendered harmless by boiling for 15 minutes, followed by disposal.
PACKAGING
Immunoglobulin is packaged in 2.0 ml (one commercial dose) in vials (ampoules) of appropriate capacity. The vials are sealed with rubber stoppers, reinforced with aluminum caps, ampoules are hermetically sealed. The vials (ampoules) are packed in cardboard (plastic) boxes or blisters (10 vials each). Each box contains instructions for using the drug.
