DESCRIPTION
Giskan-5 - solution for injection against canine plague, parvovirus, coronavirus enteritis and adenovirus infections of dogs. In appearance, the serum is a slightly opalescent yellowish or yellowish-brownish liquid. During storage, the formation of a slight sediment is allowed, which, when shaken, easily breaks up into a uniform suspension.
COMPOSITION
Giskan-5 - horse blood serum containing specific antibodies to pathogens of canine plague, parvovirus and coronavirus enteritis and adenovirus infections of dogs.
PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES
Serum Giskan-5, when administered to dogs for prophylactic purposes, provides passive immunity against plague, parvovirus, coronavirus enteritis and adenovirus infections, which lasts for 2 weeks.
The serum has medicinal properties, which are maximally manifested in the incubation and prodromal periods of the infectious process.
DOSAGE AND APPLICATION
Giskan-5 is used for the prevention and treatment of canine plague, parvovirus, coronavirus enteritis and adenovirus infections in dogs.
Serum Giskan-5 is injected subcutaneously or intramuscularly, observing the generally accepted rules of asepsis; only sterile materials and instruments are used for injection. A separate needle is used for each animal.
For the prevention of plague of carnivores, parvovirus, coronavirus enteritis and adenovirus infections of dogs, animals weighing up to 5 kg are administered a single dose of 1.0 ml, over 5 kg - a single dose of 2.0 ml.
For therapeutic purposes, Giskan-5 is administered in the indicated doses 1-3 times with an interval of 12-24 hours, depending on the severity of the pathological process. The greatest therapeutic effect is achieved when using serum in the initial stage of the disease.
SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS
Cases of overdose when using the drug have not been established.
With the introduction of the drug in some dogs, a slight increase in body temperature and allergic reactions may be observed. To exclude these phenomena, it is recommended to administer one of the antihistamines (diphenhydramine, suprastin, tavegil, diprazine, etc.) to the animal parenterally 10-15 minutes before the application of Giskan-5.
Violations of the serum regimen should be avoided, as this can lead to a decrease in the preventive and therapeutic effect.
Giskan-5 can be used in combination with antibiotics, sulfonamides, probiotics, as well as drugs intended for symptomatic treatment. Serum is not used in the same syringe with other biological products and medicines.
The timing of the possible use of products of animal origin after the introduction of serum is not established.
CONTRAINDICATIONS
It is forbidden to administer serum to dogs that are sick and weakened with clinical signs of other infectious diseases.
SIDE EFFECTS
When using the drug in accordance with this instruction, side effects and complications, as a rule, are not observed.
SHELF LIFE AND STORAGE
Serum shelf life is 2 years from the date of issue, subject to storage and transportation conditions. After the expiration date, the serum is not suitable for use.
Giskan-5 is stored and transported in a dry, dark place at a temperature of 2 to 10 В° C. Should be stored out of the reach of children.
PACKAGING
The serum is packaged in 2 ml vials (ampoules) of the appropriate capacity. The vials are sealed with rubber stoppers, reinforced with aluminum caps, ampoules are hermetically sealed. Vials (ampoules) are packed in cardboard (plastic) boxes or blisters (10 vials each). Each box contains instructions for using the drug.
