DESCRIPTION
Serum against pasteurellosis of cattle, sheep and pigs. In appearance, the serum is a light yellow liquid, sometimes with a reddish tint. During long-term storage, a slight protein precipitate is allowed, which, when shaken, easily breaks up into a uniform suspension.
COMPOSITION
The serum is made from the blood of oxen-producers, hyperimmunized with the cells of PasteС€ella pshltocida bacteria strains No. 8683, No. 1231, inactivated No. 656, 796 and No. T-80, preserved with phenol to a concentration of no more than 0.5%.
PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES
Serum contains specific antibodies against somatic, capsular, antigens of the strains: P. Mnltocida No. 8683, No. 1231, No. 656, No. 796 and No. T-80.
The serum provides the formation of passive immunity in farm animals to pasteurellosis pathogens 12-24 hours after a single application for up to 14 days.
The serum is harmless, has a preventive and therapeutic effect.
1 cm3 of serum contains at least 66% protective titers of specific antibodies to P. multocida strains.
DOSAGE AND APPLICATION
The serum is intended for the treatment and prevention of pasteurellosis in cattle, sheep and pigs.
Before use, vials with serum are thoroughly shaken and heated in a water bath to a temperature of 36-38 В° C. When carrying out immunization, the general rules of asepsis and antiseptics are observed. The skin surface at the serum injection site is disinfected with 70% ethyl alcohol.
For prophylactic purposes, serum is injected subcutaneously in the following doses: calves, lambs and piglets - 10-30 cm3; cattle, sheep and pigs - 30-40 cm3.
For therapeutic purposes, serum is administered in a double dose intramuscularly or intravenously.
SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS
Symptoms of pasteurellosis or other pathological signs in serum overdose have not been established.
The peculiarities of drug reactions during primary and subsequent immunizations with serum have not been established.
Violations of the serum immunization schedule should be avoided, as this can lead to a decrease in the preventive and therapeutic effect. If the next injection of serum is missed, it must be administered as soon as possible.
CONTRAINDICATIONS
It is forbidden to apply serum to animals with severe allergic reactions to its previous administration.
SIDE EFFECTS
When using serum in accordance with this instruction, side effects and complications are usually not observed. In some animals, allergic reactions may manifest in the form of salivation, cyanosis of the mucous membranes, and an increase in body temperature. In this case, antihistamines are used (diphenhydramine, diprazine, diazolin, caffeine, atropine). Re-introduction of serum is carried out fractionally in two doses with an interval of 3-4 hours.
SHELF LIFE AND STORAGE
Serum shelf life is 3 years from the date of issue, subject to storage conditions and shelf life. The serum is stored in a dry dark place at a temperature of 2 В° C to 15 В° C.

It is produced in glass bottles of 100 ml, sealed with rubber stoppers, reinforced with aluminum caps.
