Selemag (vitamin E + selenium) 100ml
DESCRIPTION
Selemag (Selemag) - a drug for the prevention and treatment of diseases developing against the background of vitamin E and selenium deficiency in farm animals.
COMPOSITION
Selemag in 1 ml contains as active ingredients: tocopherol acetate (vitamin E) - 25 mg, sodium selenite - 2.2 mg (in terms of selenium - 1 mg), as well as auxiliary substances: cremophor, tween 80, benzyl alcohol, propylene glycol and water for injection. In appearance, the drug is a clear yellow-green liquid. Opalescence of the solution is allowed.
PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES
Selemag belongs to the pharmacotherapeutic group: vitamin with microelement.
Vitamin E is a natural antioxidant. Selenium is included in the structure of the enzyme glutathione peroxidase. This enzyme prevents the accumulation of toxic products of lipid peroxidation in the body of animals. Vitamin E and selenium are involved in the regulation of redox processes, contribute to the normalization of metabolism and regulation of reproductive function, and increase the resistance of animals to diseases.
Selemag, according to the degree of impact on the body, belongs to low-hazard substances (hazard class 4 according to GOST 12.1.007-76).
PURPOSE
Selemag is used for the prevention and treatment of diseases in farm animals developing against the background of vitamin E and selenium deficiency; white muscle disease, reproductive and developmental disorders of the fetus, treatment of muscular dystrophy in young animals, myopathy and cardiopathy in calves and pigs, treatment of toxic liver dystrophy in animals; with stunted growth and insufficient weight gain.
DOSAGE AND APPLICATION
Selemag is administered subcutaneously or intramuscularly (for horses only intramuscularly) for prophylactic purposes once every 2-4 months at the doses indicated in the table.

Cattle 5 ml / 100 kg body weight
Breeding cows: mid-gestation and 30 days before calving 5 ml / 100 kg body weight
Calves 5-8 ml / 100 kg body weight
Horses 5 ml / 100 kg body weight
Foals 6-7 ml / 100 kg body weight
Pigs 5 ml / 100 kg body weight
Piglets (for piglets over 7 days old) 5 ml / 10kg body weight
Sheeps 2.0-2.5 ml / 40 kg body weight
Lambs up to 3 weeks of age 0.8 ml / 10 kg body weight
Lambs after 3 weeks of age 0.5 ml / 10 kg body weight
Goats 2.0 ml / 40 kg body weight
Furry animals 0.02 ml / 1 kg of body weight
The dose can be increased, but not more than 1.5 times.
If necessary, Selemag is re-administered no earlier than 7-1 O days. For ease of administration of small volumes, the drug can be diluted with sterile water or isotonic sodium chloride solution 0.9% and mixed thoroughly.
SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS
In case of poisoning of animals due to overdose, arsanilic acid, unitiol, sodium thiosulfate, methionine can be used for treatment.
The peculiarities of the action of the drug during its first use and when it is canceled have not been established.
The drug can be used by pregnant, lactating animals and their young animals.
Slaughter of animals for meat after the use of SelemagaВ® is allowed no earlier than one day after the last injection. In the event of the forced slaughter of animals before the established deadline, the meat can be used as feed for fur animals. Milk can be used without restrictions.
CONTRAINDICATIONS
A contraindication to use is the individual hypersensitivity of animals to selenium, or excessive selenium content in the body and feed.
SIDE EFFECTS
When using Selemag in accordance with this instruction, side effects and complications in farm animals, as a rule, are not observed.
In case of increased individual sensitivity of animals to the drug and the development of allergic reactions, the use of the drug is discontinued and antihistamines and symptomatic agents are prescribed to the animal.
SHELF LIFE AND STORAGE
The shelf life of the medicinal product, subject to storage conditions, is 2 years from the date of production. Do not use the drug after the expiration date.
Store the medicinal product in the manufacturer's sealed packaging in a place protected from direct sunlight, separately from food and feed, at a temperature of 5 В° C to 25 В° C.
PACKAGING
Selemag is produced packaged in 1OOmL in glass bottles of appropriate capacity, sealed with rubber stoppers, reinforced with aluminum caps. Each consumer package is supplied with instructions for use.
