Characteristics:
Sage leaves contain essential oil (cineole, pinene, camphor, etc.), tannins, flavonoids and other biologically active substances.
Description:
Pieces of leaves, stems, flowers. The color is grayish green, greenish gray or silvery white with greenish brown, light brown, yellowish white, white, reddish purple and rare brown blotches. The smell is fragrant. The taste of the aqueous extract is bitter-spicy, slightly astringent.
Pharmacotherapeutic group: Herbal anti-inflammatory agent.
Pharmacological action: Infusion of sage leaves has antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory and astringent effects.
Indications for use:
In the complex therapy of inflammatory diseases of the oral cavity (stomatitis, gingivitis), pharynx (tonsillitis, pharyngitis).
Contraindications:
Individual intolerance. With care - pregnancy, lactation.
Method of administration and dosage:
About 10 g (2 tablespoons) of sage leaves are placed in an enamel bowl, 200 ml (1 glass) of hot boiled water are poured, covered with a lid and heated in a boiling water bath for 15 minutes, cooled at room temperature for 45 minutes, filter, wring out the remaining raw materials.
The volume of the resulting infusion is brought to 200 ml with boiled water.
Applied to rinse the mouth and throat 3-5 times a day in a warm form.
It is recommended to shake the infusion before use.
