Pharmacological action of
Risendros tablets is an inhibitor of bone resorption.
Risedronic acid binds to hydroxyapatite at the cellular level and inhibits the function of osteoclasts, reduces bone resorption.
Time to achieve maximum therapeutic effect - 3 - 6 months, duration of therapeutic effect - 12 months.
Indications
Treatment for established postmenopausal osteoporosis.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug.
- Hypocalcemia.
- Severe renal impairment (creatinine clearance less than 30 ml / min).
- Pregnancy and the period of breastfeeding (lactation).
- Children under 18 years old.
Precautions:
For erosive and ulcerative lesions of the mucous membrane of the gastrointestinal tract (including a history).
- In patients with a history of dysfunction of the esophagus (such as stricture or achlasia).

Dosage and administration
Recommended adult dose: 35 mg once a week.
The tablet must be taken on the same day of the week.
Absorption of risedronic acid depends on the meal, therefore, to ensure adequate absorption, patients should take RIZENDROS at least 30 minutes before the first meal, another drug or drink (other than water).
It is necessary for patients to explain that if they missed a dose, then it is necessary to accept drug on that day when they remembered about it. Then the patient should return to taking one tablet once a week on the day of normal administration.
Do not take two tablets on the same day.
The tablet should be taken whole and not chewed, it is better to stand and drink it with plain water (> 120 ml). After taking the pill, patients should not go to bed for 30 minutes.
Bo During treatment, an adequate diet with sufficient calcium and vitamin D is recommended. If necessary, additional calcium and vitamin D preparations are possible.
