Rometar 50ml

DESCRIPTION

Rometar 20 mg / ml - solution for injection is used in cattle, small ruminants, horses, dogs and cats as a sedative to facilitate operations. The drug is a clear, colorless solution without mechanical impurities.

COMPOSITION

1 ml of the drug contains 20 mg of xyl: azine (in the form of xylazine hydrochloride), excipients and form-forming substances (methylparaben, sodium chloride hydrochloric acid, water for injection).

PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES

Xylazine belongs to the group of sedatives with muscle relaxant action. Depending on the dose, xylazine has a sedative analgesic and muscle relaxation effect. The mechanism of action of the drug is to stimulate the central presynaptic a2-adrenergic receptors, which leads to a decrease in the release of norepinephrine and its stimulating effect on the central nervous system.

When administered parenterally, it causes a rapid onset of dissociated anesthesia. After intramuscular or subcutaneous administration of the drug, its effect is manifested after 5-20 minutes, and with intravenous administration, after 1-5 minutes.

The duration of the sedative effect in cattle - from 30 minutes to 5 hours, horses - from 30 minutes to 1 hour, small ruminants, dogs, cats - from 1 to 2 hours. The analgesic effect lasts up to 45 minutes in cattle, from 15 to 30 minutes in small animals, and from 5 to 20 minutes in horses. Muscle relaxation occurs in 20-50 minutes.

With the introduction of the drug in the highest single dose, deep sedation of the animal is noted; the animal lies down and a state similar to a dream sets in.

PURPOSE

The drug is used in large and small ruminants, horses, dogs and cats as a sedative to facilitate operations and other procedures (X-ray examination, insertion of nasal rings, removal of stitches, treatment of wounds, including ligation of the vagina and uterus, elimination of a foreign body after blockage esophagus in cattle, closing wounds with sutures, surgical interventions on the nipples, catheterization, eye and ear treatment, etc.); to calm the animal during stress (transportation, transportation); during general anesthesia, etc.

DOSAGE AND APPLICATION

The drug is administered intramuscularly, subcutaneously or intravenously, as well as in combination with butamidor, ketamine and barbiturates to enhance its action.

For cattle, the drug is administered intramuscularly in the following doses:

to calm the animal, carry out small interventions while maintaining the body position in space - 0.25 ml per 100 kg of animal weight. There is a slight sedative effect with a decrease in muscle tone;

for medium sedation of the animal and for minor surgical interventions in combination with local anesthesia - 0.5 ml per 100 kg of the animal. Moderate sedation sets in with a marked decrease in muscle tone and some analgesic effect (the animal, as a rule, remains upright);

for strong sedation of the animal with intense and prolonged muscle relaxation, pronounced analgesia and for extensive surgical interventions -1.0 ml per 100 kg of animal weight (animals in a supine position);

- for painful and prolonged operations for adult animals - 1.5 ml per 100 kg of animal weight. Deep sedation ensues with a complete decrease in muscle tone and a high degree of anelgesia.

In horses, the drug is administered intravenously, by jet, slowly, depending on the indications and the type of higher nervous activity, at a dose of 3.0-5.0 ml / 100 kg of animal weight. Sedation usually occurs within 5 minutes after administration and lasts about 20 minutes. To easily excitable animals, the drug is administered at the maximum dose. It is not recommended to administer the drug to horses for which the dorsal fixation method is used.

Sheep, goats are administered intramuscularly at a dose of 0.05 - 0.15 ml / 10 kg of animal weight.

Dogs: for manipulations that do not cause a strong pain reaction (dressings, clinical examination, removal of dental calculus, etc.), the drug is administered intramuscularly at a dose of 0.05-0.10 ml / kg of animal weight. For procedures and operations associated with a strong pain reaction, the drug is used in dogs in combination with other anesthetics and analgesics, according to the instructions for their use.

For cats: for manipulations that do not cause a strong pain reaction (X-ray, removal of tartar, etc.), for local and general anesthesia, the drug is administered intramuscularly or subcutaneously at a dose of 0.05-0.1 O ml / kg of animal weight. In operations that cause a strong pain reaction, the drug is used in combination with other anesthetics, according to the instructions for their use.

SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS

In case of an overdose of the drug or to accelerate the recovery of the animal from anesthesia, metoclopramide hydrochloride is administered intravenously or intramuscularly at a dose of 0.5 mg / kg 2-3 times a day; antisedan at a dose of 0.2 mg / kg intramuscularly; doxapram; force diuresis. Intravenous drip (carefully!) Inject dopamine at a dose of 10 Ојg / kg / min, 5% sodium bicarbonate solution, 0.037% sodium hypochlorite solution at a dose of 7-10 ml / kg.

With pulmonary edema, hypertonic solutions of glucose and calcium chloride are injected intravenously.

Slaughter of animals for meat is allowed no earlier than 5 days after the cessation of the use of the drug, and the use of milk in food uels no earlier than 4 days.

Meat of animals that were forcedly killed before the expiration of the specified period can be used for feeding carnivores. Milk obtained from animals during the period of application of the drug and before the expiration of 4 days after the last injection can be used for feeding animals.

CONTRAINDICATIONS

The use of the drug is contraindicated in the last trimester of pregnancy (increased tone of the myometrium), with mechanical damage to the gastrointestinal tract (blockage of the esophagus, volvulus), impaired cardiac muscle conduction, diseases of the lungs, liver, kidneys, diabetes mellitus, as well as diseases accompanied by vomiting.

SIDE EFFECTS

Decreased heart rate and respiration, excessive salivation, nausea, vomiting, increased blood glucose concentration, polyuria. In cattle, there may be a decrease in scar and mesh contractility, tympania, paresis of the tongue, hypothermia, and diarrhea.

In order to prevent possible side effects, before the introduction of the drug subcutaneously or intramuscularly, cats are injected atropine sulfate at a dose of 0.05 mg / kg of animal weight.
