Pharmacological action

Anaprilin is a non-selective beta-blocker (acts on beta1 and beta2-adrenergic receptors). It has antianginal, hypotensive and antiarrhythmic effects. It reduces the automatism of the sinus node, reduces heart rate, slows down AV conduction, reduces myocardial contractility, and reduces myocardial oxygen demand. It reduces the excitability of cardiomyocytes, reduces the occurrence of ectopic foci, and has a membrane-stabilizing effect. It has a hypotensive effect, which stabilizes by the end of the 2nd week of the course of the drug. Increases the tone of the bronchi.

Indications

- arterial hypertension

Contraindications

Use during pregnancy and lactation

Composition

Dosage and administration

Side effects

Possible: bradycardia, AV block, bronchospasm, heart failure, muscle weakness.

Drug Interaction

Against the background of treatment with Anaprilin, the administration of verapamil, diltiazem, should be avoided.

Concomitant administration of Anaprilin with oral hypoglycemic agents or insulin may impair glucose and blood plasma regulation and increase the risk of hyperglycemia.

Anaprilin can also mask the symptoms of onset hypoglycemia.

At simultaneous use of Anaprilin and NSAIDs (especially indomethacin) it is possible to reduce the antihypertensive action of Anaprilin, probably by suppressing the synthesis of prostaglandins in the kidneys and, as a consequence, the retention of sodium and fluid in the body).

With the simultaneous use of Anaprilin and estrogen-containing drugs, the antihypertensive effect of Anaprilin may be reduced due to fluid retention in the body.

With the use of Anaprilin with nitrates, the antihypertensive effect may increase.

Overdose

Symptoms: severe bradycardia, dizziness, AV blockade, severe BP, syncope, arrhythmia, ventricular extrasystole, CH, cyanosis of finger nails or palms, convulsions, difficulty breathing, bronchospasm.
