Propazin tablets 25mg, No. 50; Mental illness, accompanied by psychomotor agitation (especially in cases of mild course), for maintenance therapy, as well as in debilitated patients, elderly people and children.

Inside, 25-50 mg 2-4 times / day. The maximum single dose for adults is 250 mg, the daily dose is 2 g.

• Diseases of the liver and kidneys,

• gastritis,

• chronic heart failure in the stage of decompensation,

• arterial hypotension.

pharmachologic effect

Antipsychotic (neuroleptic). It has an antipsychotic, sedative effect, reduces physical activity. In addition, it has antiemetic, hypothermic and antihistamine effects.

Side effect

Possibly: allergic reactions, dyspeptic symptoms, arterial hypotension, extrapyramidal disorders, hepatitis.

Application for violations of liver function

Contraindicated in liver diseases.

Application for impaired renal function

Contraindicated in kidney disease.

Drug interactions

With simultaneous use with drugs that have a depressing effect on the central nervous system (including with anxiolytics, opioid analgesics, hypnotics, anticonvulsants, drugs for anesthesia), it is possible to increase the inhibitory effect on the central nervous system.

With the simultaneous use of drugs with hepatotoxic and nephrotoxic effects, the nephrotoxic and hepatotoxic effects are enhanced.

With simultaneous use with suxamethonium, a case of prolonged apnea has been described.
