Pharmacological action
Otolorin ear drops - a combined preparation for local use, has an antiseptic and disinfectant effect and moderately alleviates pain.
Boric acid has an antiseptic, fungistatic effect.
Has a mild irritating effect on granulation tissue.
Procaine is a local anesthetic with moderate anesthetic activity and a wide range of therapeutic effects.
Indications
External acute and chronic otitis media without damage to the eardrum.
Special instructions
Avoid contact with mucous membranes.
Before you start using the drug, make sure the integrity of the eardrum.
If used with a perforated eardrum, the drug may come into contact with the organs of the middle ear and lead to toxic reactions.
Influence on the ability to drive vehicles and mechanisms
Caution is required during the treatment with the drug when performing hazardous activities, requiring increased concentration of attention and speed of psychomotor reactions (driving, working with moving mechanisms).
Composition
1 ml
procaine hydrochloride 20 mg
boric acid 30 mg
Excipients:
sodium hydroxide solution 0.1 M - up to pH 4.5-6.0,
ethyl alcohol 70% - up to 1 ml.
Side effects
Allergic reactions, prolonged use may cause headache, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, in rare cases, a shock condition.
Local reactions are possible in the form of itching, burning, which pass on their own after 1-2 minutes and do not require discontinuation of the drug.
If used with a perforated eardrum, the drug may come into contact with the organs of the middle ear and lead to the following toxic reactions: nausea, vomiting, redness of the skin, itching, hives, swelling, deafness, imbalance, confusion.
