COMPOSITION
Cefotaxime sodium - 62.7 mg, neomycin sulfate - 9.0 mg, prednisolone - 2.7 mg, excipients.
DESCRIPTION
Oily suspension of white with a yellow tint.
Pharmacological properties
Primalact belongs to combined antibacterial drugs.
INDICATIONS
For the treatment of lactating cows with subclinical, catarrhal, serous and purulent-catarrhal mastitis; for the treatment of cows with subacute and chronic forms of endometritis.
APPLICATION AND DOSAGE
For the treatment of mastitis: Primalact is injected intracisternally, 5 ml into the affected quarter of the udder, once a day.
For subclinical mastitis: the drug is used for 2-3 days.
In clinical forms of mastitis: the drug is used for 3-4 days.
For the treatment of subacute and chronic forms of endometritis: Primalact is administered intrauterinely in a dose of 20 ml per animal 2-3 times with an interval of 24 hours, not earlier than 14 days after calving.
CONTRAINDICATIONS
Increased individual sensitivity of the animal to the components of the drug, including the history. It is forbidden to use Primalact simultaneously with other otoxic and nephrotoxic drugs. It is not recommended to use the drug simultaneously with other drugs for intracisternal and intrauterine administration.
SIDE EFFECTS
When using Primalact in accordance with this instruction, side effects and complications in cows, as a rule, are not observed. In the event of allergic reactions, the use of the drug is discontinued and antihistamines and symptomatic drugs are prescribed to the animal.
LIMITATIONS
Slaughter of cows for meat is allowed no earlier than 5 days after the last intracisternal or intrauterine administration of the drug. For food purposes, milk is used no earlier than 60 hours after the last intracisternal injection of Primalact, provided that the signs of mastitis, confirmed by Masttest-AF, or other mastitis tests, disappear completely. After intrauterine administration of the drug, milk can be used without restrictions.
STORAGE
In sealed manufacturer's packaging in a dry, dark place, separate from food and feed, at a temperature of 5 В° C to 20 В° C.
