Pharmacological action

Pharmacological action - replenishing potassium deficiency.

Corrects metabolic processes, including water-electrolyte balance, maintains intracellular osmotic pressure.

Pharmacodynamics

Participates in the conduction of a nerve impulse, reduces the excitability and conduction of the myocardium, inhibits automatism, reduces the toxic effect of cardiac glycosides on the heart, being their antagonist in relation to the effect on rhythm.

Indications

Arrhythmia, tachycardia, hypokalemia, intoxication with cardiac glycosides and diuretics.

Contraindications

Impaired renal function, complete heart block.

Special instructions

Use with caution in cases of impaired AV conduction, adrenal insufficiency.

Dosage and administration of

IV drip at a rate of 20-30 drops per minute.

Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea.
